Currently, RISE represents a multi-year partnership between nine school districts across Connecticut, serving 14,000 students across ten high schools to support educators striving to ensure every RISE high school student graduates college and career ready. 

 

Position Summary and Essential Job Functions:

 

The Executive Assistant will play an integral role providing executive-level support and coordination in furtherance of RISE’s growth, organizational effectiveness, and impact over time. RISE is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to support the Executive Director and the organization’s leadership team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  1. Schedule Optimization:

  • Schedule meetings with internal and external stakeholders and provide calendar management support; help prepare for meetings.

  • Support efficient and effective organizational meetings and collaboration through the development of agendas, minutes, and other proactive measures to support workflow.

  • Anticipate upcoming events and cyclical responsibilities, monitor the organization-wide calendar, and plan proactively for organizational needs aligned to those events. 

  • Arrange organizational events working in collaboration with the Operations Team.  

  • Support cross-functional collaboration within the organization.  

  • Support information flow in a timely and accurate manner, including by drafting internal updates to RISE staff.

  • Perform general administrative support, including assistance with expense tracking and reimbursement. 


  1. Stakeholder Coordination and Correspondence:

  • Support the Executive Director in coordinating communications and maintaining key relationships with external partners, donors, and vendors.

  • Maintain an excellent office environment and guest experience, working in collaboration with the RISE Operations Associate.  

  • Assist in preparing materials and coordinating schedules for quarterly Board of Directors meetings.

  • Exude professionalism and convey a strong customer service mentality in all internal and external interactions and communications.

  • Maintain organized electronic filing and tracking systems. 

  • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality. 

  • Conduct short-term research projects, as assigned; read, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple sources and over periods of time. 


  1. Special Projects:

  • Support significant annual and special projects by leading communications, partner coordination, budget management, and project management around substantial cross-functional initiatives. 

  • Work in collaboration with external and philanthropic partners around annual events with school partners (e.g., Teacher Appreciation Day). 

  • Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to dive in as new projects and opportunities materialize.


Required Knowledge and Skills:


  • Experience providing executive-level support and coordination.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills (e.g., emails, memos, slide decks).

  • Ability to ramp up on new content and work in an independent and self-motivated manner.

  • Desire to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and results-driven environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft and Google apps.

  • Strong sense of accountability and responsibility for results.

  • Outstanding collaboration and teamwork.

  • Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish preferred.


Required Education and Experience: 


  • Minimum of four years of relevant professional experience.
