The Position

Setup and execute experimental assays including IHC and qPCR.  Generate in house data and present findings to relevant project teams in departmental and cross-functional team meetings.  Plan, execute, and interpretation of experiments deriving from in vivo studies to support Ashvattha's preclinical pipeline. The candidate is expected to provide technical expertise in digital pathology, image quantifications, standard immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) and qPCR. They will execute histology tasks from tissue sectioning (e.g. paraffin and cryosectioning), immunostaining, microscopy to image quantification (e.g. Image-Pro, adapting macros in Image J, deep learning image analysis). Preferred qualification includes experiences in developing/adapting image quantification algorithms as well as backgrounds in neuroinflammation, oncology, inflammation and/or immunology. They will also troubleshoot technical issues, perform data analysis, and maintain lab notebooks and high-quality lab standards. 

Who You Are

BS/MSc degree in a related scientific discipline with at least 5 years of hand on laboratory experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in image processing, particularly in segmentation and feature extraction. Some hands-on experience in tissue-based IHC/IF along with proficiency in brightfield/fluorescence imaging using slide scanners is preferred. Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as qPCR is preferred. They must have the ability to effectively and clearly summarize results for presentation and report generation. The candidate should exhibit exemplary verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within and across functions at a small company. You are able to work full time, on site at our laboratory.
