Ashvattha Therapeutics Inc is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company developing products for the unmet medical needs utilizing a novel nanomedicine technology exclusively licensed from Johns Hopkins University. We are currently looking for outstanding individuals to join our team and contribute to our rapidly expanding portfolio of therapeutic products. We have product candidates in neurology, ophthalmology, and inflammation indications.
The Position
This person will be responsible for the design, execution, and interpretation of in vitro cell-based experiments to support Ashvattha's preclinical pipeline. They will work with several different mouse and human cell lines, and primary human PBMCs, to investigate target engagement and disease-relevant pathways in in vitro cell culture systems. Focus will be on developing microglial, macrophage, and immune cell-based assays to investigate mechanism of action of Ashvattha hydroxy-dendrimer therapeutics in a broad range of inflammatory diseases including but not limited to, neurological, ophthalmological, and immunological indications. The candidate will utilize techniques such as ELISA, Western blotting, qRT-PCR, immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry and microscopy, and flow cytometry to interrogate endpoints from cellular assays. The candidate will also have a good understanding of PKPD relationships and contribute towards early biomarker discovery and development.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, or related discipline with at least 8 years of work experience (post degree) with a minimum of 3 years experience at a biopharmaceutical company. Must be able to work on site at our Redwood City laboratories, five days per week.
The candidate must have expertise working with primary or secondary microglial or immune cells in relevant assays such as phagocytosis, aggregation, chemotaxis, LPS-stimulated inflammation.
The candidate must have expertise in at least 3 of the following techniques: ELISA, Western blotting, qRT-PCR, immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry and microscopy, and flow cytometry.
They must have the ability to read and interpret scientific literature and be able to independently execute cellular assays with minimal supervision.
The candidate should exhibit exemplary communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within and across functions at a small company.

The salary range for candidates located in the Bay Area is $85,000 - $115,000 depending on skills and experience.
