Hydroxyl dendrimer therapeutics (HDTs) are a new class of compounds being developed by Ashvattha. HDTs involve conjugation of novel small molecule linker compounds with hydroxyl dendrimers (~15-50 kDa). Scientist with a strong background and experience in synthetic, organic or medicinal chemistry is needed to support the pipeline of HDTs in research. He/she will be responsible to setting up the synthesis operations in the Redwood City lab. The candidate will take an active role in supporting preclinical and clinical HDTs. Synthesis efforts will range from small scale pilot batches (1-5 g) to intermediate batches (10-100g) to support non-GLP toxicology work. He/she will be part of a research team working closely with nonclinical and manufacturing teams to support development efforts including transfer of manufacturing procedures to GMP CMO and pre-IND sections. This role will also support efforts to select new HDTs for advancement into IND enabling studies.
Set-up Redwood City lab synthesis procedures at small (1-5 g) and intermediate (10-100g) scale; Procure additional equipment as needed to support efforts; Learn HDT synthesis methods from current team (Baltimore lab) and contribute to the synthesis efforts for the preclinical pipeline
Skills & Expertise
Hands-on experience in synthesis of small molecule drugs including ability to design synthetic schemes from literature and reduce them to lab practice; Experience with conjugation chemistry used for antibody-drug conjugates and drug-polymer conjugates; Experience in purification using tangential flow filtration. PhD in organic, synthetic or medicinal chemistry.
