Salary: $55,000 (non-negotiable)

About the Role

The People & Culture Coordinator will focus on onboarding coordination and employee engagement and retention. This role will also help manage volunteer and internship programs, as well as track and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of people and culture initiatives.

The Coordinator will serve as a trusted resource to staff, fostering a welcoming and equitable environment that aligns with our organizational values and strengthens our cultural fabric.

What You’ll Do

  • Support onboarding experiences focused on 30/60/90-day check-ins of new full time staff

  • Build engagement through events, open communication channels and feedback loops, including staff listening sessions and surveys.

  • Coordinate staff learning opportunities, including workshops and learning platforms

  • Support employee retention with stay interviews and recognition programs

  • Manage volunteer and internship programs from recruitment to recognition (including Summer Youth Employment Program- SYEP)

  • Track and analyze people & culture data to inform team and organizational decisions

Required Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in HR, people operations, employee engagement, or related fields (nonprofit, education, or arts setting preferred).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, track details, and work across multiple priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and relationships across diverse teams.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, data collection, analysis, and reporting; experience with HRIS, survey tools, or CRM systems is a plus.

  • Commitment to building a compassionate and inclusive culture.

  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
