TEST ENGINEER

    Founded in 2014 in Oakland, California, Hound Labs, Inc. is a point-of-care health technology company that has developed ultra-sensitive and portable solutions for the measurement and identification of minute concentrations of particles and pathogens that until now required large-scale and expensive diagnostic equipment. The Company’s point-of-care solutions include the HOUND® MARIJUANA BREATHALYZER, which allows employers and law enforcement to rapidly identify recent marijuana use while on-site, and the HOUND® COVID-19 BREATHALYZER, which captures breath samples on-location for laboratory identification of COVID-19 in breath. 


    LOCATION: Newark, CA 


    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Responsible for testing and troubleshooting systems and interpreting results
    • Develops and executes test plans and protocols for performance evaluation, life-cycle testing, and verification and validation
    • Uses statistical analysis tools to inform test design and data analysis
    • Designs, builds, and uses test stands as required
    • Responsible for managing external testing as required
    • Generates technical documentation for use in troubleshooting and production testing
    • Works with Quality Assurance team to establish inspection criteria and test methods
    • All other duties as assigned 


    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant scientific discipline
    • Minimum 7 years relevant professional experience 
    • Experience performing system and subsystem verification and validation
    • Experience with system integration and performance evaluation
    • Experience writing and executing test plans and protocols
    • Experience developing bench tests and test fixtures
    • Experience developing test software and/or scripts (e.g. LabView, Python, etc.)
    • Experience with relevant test and measurement equipment
    • Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical devices and systems
    • Experience with biochemical assay systems highly desire
    • Skilled in statistical data analysis and quality control 
    • Proven skills in problem solving and root cause analysis
    • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be highly task oriented
    • Experience working with medical, diagnostic, or life science instruments preferred
