The Hound breathalyzer is intended for law enforcement, employer, and insurance purposes only. Founded in 2014, the Oakland-based company was created by Dr. Mike Lynn, an ER physician, reserve deputy sheriff, and former venture capitalist, his co-founder, Mr. Kuni Oh, a patent attorney with a deep background in engineering and science, and his co-founder, Ms. Jenny Lynn, a business executive with twenty years of experience launching new ventures. Benchmark, Icon Ventures, Intrinsic Capital Partners, Main Street Advisors, NFP Ventures, and individual investors have funded the Company.



 About the Role


Hound Labs is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Business Operations to join our team. This role is a hybrid of traditional jobs in finance, strategy, business operations, and sales operations - requiring a mix of market analysis, process design & optimization, system building, and business operational support. Reporting to the Senior Director of Business Operations, success in this role means bringing collaboration, rigorous thinking, data, and hard work to businesses challenges and leaving scalable, game changing solutions in your wake.  A successful candidate will demonstrate curiosity, excellence in extracting insights from data and a passion for converting ideas to action. They will also possess the presence and communication skills to interact with every level of the organization. 

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities


·       Build and refine forecasting and planning processes to ensure achievement of revenue, margin, and key operating metrics 

·       Understand the best metrics to convey a message to key stakeholders, and can modify systems (Salesforce and NetSuite) to capture the required data where it doesn’t yet exist 

·       Leverage data and analytics to deliver insights and proactively drive business decisions 

·       Identify challenges, market trends, and opportunities to gain market share and drive sales and revenue performance improvement 

·       Develop data driven business cases and drive initiatives that are tied to corporate strategy 

·       Proactively identify and drive continuous improvements in operational processes and practices across the go-to-market team and the broader organization 

·       Bridge financial actuals into a robust financial forecast

·       Develop pricing strategies, sales compensation analysis, sales forecasting, and quota attainment

·       Develop a data lake for analytics, leverage SQL or other analytic languages to generate reporting both ad-hoc and repeated


 Qualifications


·       Bachelor’s Degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or engineering

·       5-10 years’ work experience in strategy consulting, M&A, finance, sales operations, or analytics 

·       Operationally focused, process-oriented, data-driven, and simply able to get stuff done 

·       Financial acumen including operating plan development, resource planning, and budget management 

·       Exceptional problem-solving skills: demonstrated ability to develop compelling solutions to complex quantitative/logic challenges 

·       Extensive experience focused on quantitative analysis, SQL, Excel, and logical reasoning; often requiring intelligent assumptions to fill holes in the available data 

·       Experience with the design, build, and administration of Salesforce and NetSuite 

·       Experience with business intelligence tools like PowerBI, Domo, or Tableau 

·       Strong communication skills, especially related to email and presentations
