U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance is looking for a Communications Manager. The Communications Manager will be a three-month contract position responsible for managing social media channels, including podcast management, and executing partnership newsletters and website content.  

The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, the ability to lead project work without continual oversight, and is well-versed in many communications vehicles. The successful candidate will work directly with the USFRA communications staff and other contractors to ensure deliverables drive the mission of the organization. He or she will coordinate with other program leads to ensure all aspects of USFRA projects receive the necessary communications support.

Location:  St. Louis, MO or Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Manage communications editorial calendar for all internal and external vehicles.
  • Work with writing contractor and CEO to coordinate topics and timing for weekly blog posts.
  • Work with contractor to coordinate, plan, prepare and record podcast (3x per month).
  • Assist CEOs in building presentations for events and speaking opportunities as needed.
  • Develop social media content each week based on editorial calendar; post and promote content on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram daily.
  • Manage social community via comments and engagements.
  • Develop and distribute monthly e-newsletter to organizational funders; quarterly newsletter to farmer ambassador team and prospects.
  • Attend team meetings as assigned.
  • Support SharePoint database use and reporting as needed.

 

Skills Required

·         Knowledge and experience leading various social media platforms and understanding digital metrics

·         Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

·         Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills

·         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Professional

·         Working knowledge of Zoom, SharePoint, CRMs, Salesforce and Monday.com is a plus


  • Remote work experience a plus.

 

Job Criteria

·         Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of experience in digital communications, required.

·         Experience in the field of agriculture, cause marketing and/or sustainability is strongly desired.
