Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections of complex turbine parts under minimal supervision using state of the art computer aided inspection techniques.

  • Establish most efficient and cost effective inspection methods and techniques for assigned inspections.

  • Interface with engineering department to coordinate inspection of parts.

  • Provide technical support to Integrated Product Development team and all UNEW design and development activities

  • Review all designed products for conformance to UNEW standards

  • Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of various gas turbine components

  • Manage all aspects of the design and design improvements of gas turbine parts

  • Develop and maintain design substantiation reports

  • CAD modeling, patent searches, fit and clearance calculations, and stress calculations

  • Prepare and/or edit detailed drawings and completed mechanical drawings and layouts of components and assemblies from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing purposes

  • Prepare required inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications in accordance with established ISO17025 procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Blueprint experience required

  • Knowledge of ANSI-Y-14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing.

  • Gas turbine experience preferred.

  • Experience with ATOS Scanning system preferred

  • Experience with PRO/E, Unigraphics, Geomagic is a plus.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Due to the nature of this work, you must be a U.S. Citizen or Green card holder.
