The Pat Tillman Foundation (PTF) unites and empowers remarkable military veterans and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self. A leadership and scholarship organization inspired by the values of Pat Tillman and a steadfast belief in leadership through action, over the last 18 years the foundation has supported over 800 Tillman Scholars as they apply hard-earned leadership skills to impactful issues around the world.


PTF seeks mid-career, lifelong learning professionals to assist in programming and administrative functions of the to-be-launched Tillman Leadership Institute, primarily focused on three priority areas: participant and client engagements, program administration, and research & development for TLI.   The Engagement Manager for TLI  serves on a 2-person team, reports to the Director of TLI, and may directly supervise one-two master’s level interns. The Engagement Manager will be entrusted with a great deal of autonomy and needs to be innovative and creative. They will help mold a highly-collaborative environment while engaging regularly with key stakeholders. This role will be a thought partner to the Director of TLI and act as spokesperson and ambassador for TLI, PTF and its community.

What You’ll Do

Client and Participant  Engagement

  • Work closely with the clients of TLI and their participants (students) to ensure an efficient flow of communication. 

  • Answer client and participant questions when they arise on TLI programming

  • Be the first point of contact for client tracking engagement, not limited to session communications instructions, participant attendance lists, and session evaluation

  • Assist the Director of TLI with business development and recruitment efforts for TLI


Program Administration

  • Upload and administer program materials and logistics packet to participants

  • Coordinating with Events Managers preferred hotels and site trainings, catering and evening dinners

  • Tracking of signed participant agreement paperwork and work with Operations team on invoicing for program clients

  • Create and analyze pre-program assessments, post program evaluations and 60/90 day post-program learning outcomes

  • Tracking for client and participants within Salesforce


Research & Development for TLI

  • Help shape future TLI programming, in relation to peer organizations, as TLI builds a clearly differentiated and valuable model of leadership development that leverages Tillman Scholars

  • Develop & apply a set of criteria for evaluating new TLI  programming, setting and evaluating concepts against clear “go / no-go” standards that will guide new program ideation and pilots

  • Personally conduct and lead deep dive strategic brainstorming & research efforts


Additional Duties

  • Champion the work of PTF and TLI through email, zoom info session and tabling at TLI recruitment events. 

  • Develop strong rapport with PTF staff and key stakeholders to ensure TLI is working in collaboration with all PTF programming and events.

This position is located  in Chicago, on a hybrid work schedule, and reports to the Director of TLI.
