A.  Purpose and Scope

The Operational Due Diligence Research Analyst is responsible for a wide range of duties evaluating the operational capabilities of investment managers being considered for investment by Crewcial Partners. This individual will perform the initial and ongoing operational due diligence of third-party investment managers recommended by the Firm. They will also assist with the review and ongoing monitoring of investment managers in accordance with the Firm’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, initial and ongoing investment-manager operational due diligence.

 

B.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·   Be a part of a separate operational due-diligence team

·   On-site manager meetings

·   Review manager-audited financial statements

·   Review manager legal documents

·   Regulatory and compliance verification checks and document review (etc.)

·   Review key fund documentation and reports from third-party service providers

·   Review manager trade process, risk management, compliance, and business-continuity planning

·   Draft operational due-diligence reports for the firm’s research team, which involves extensive writing

·   Create standardized, structured reports for each investment, including reviews of key areas of operations

·   Maintain communication with the research team regarding the operational due-diligence capabilities of managers

·   Demonstrate a commitment and contribution to fostering and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion

·   Must attend Annual Awareness Training (Interactive Sexual Harassment Training as mandated by New York State and New York City)

E.  Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

G.  Education & Experience

·   Minimum of bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or other related discipline

·   Working towards or completion of a relevant professional designation (e.g., CFA, CPA, CAIA)

·   Minimum 2 years of experience in operational due diligence, accounting, auditing, valuations, compliance, investment operations, and/or middle office, information technology, or related field

·   Minimum 3 years of experience in an investment-related role with a significant investment operations focus

·   Previous investment consulting or operations review experience strongly preferred

 

H.  Compensation

Annual salary, medical benefits, 401(k) savings plan (match subject to vesting period), life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and voluntary dental and vision. Position is bonus eligible.
