Position Summary
General Purpose: Assigned to maintain continuous quality production of insulated metal panels.
Essential Functions:
Assist in production activities
Assist in cleanup activities
Assist in production changeovers
Using standard forklift and CombiLift, remove bundles from line and stack
Move bundles as necessary between curing room, storage, and outdoor yard
Transport all bundles that have been produced and have been inspected outside and stage in shipping yard.
While transporting outside, highlight each bundle on Shipping BOM’s, to ensure accuracy of production.
Inspect from forklift each bundle being carried for noticeable damage, and report to Foreman or Plant Manager if there is any damage.
Place bundles in shipping yard safely and without damage according to load dates, length & SOA numbers (In cold weather, make sure bundles are free and clear of ice before stacking on each other).
Effectively communicate and coordinate with other stations and departments
Ensure area is organized and clean
Complete training by Lead Operator/Foreman/Supervisor
Certain areas require standard forklift operation
Comply with all safety and company policies and procedures
Perform other related duties as assigned
Complete training by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have mathematic proficiency to include arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), as well as adding and subtracting fractions
Must have the ability to accurately use a tape measure
Must be proficient with the metric measurement system
Must have a high level of attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work up to 12 hour per day. Hours, days and shifts depend on season and production schedule, and are not guaranteed.
Must have the physical and mental ability, including spatial awareness to drive standard forklift types successfully.
Must have the physical and mental ability, including omnidirectional spatial awareness and capability, to drive a CombiLift successfully.
Ability sits, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, crouch, lean, reach, twist, and other physical movements for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment as indicated below under “Working Environment”.
Ability to wear prescribed personal protective equipment and appropriate clothing.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to read, write, type, and verbally communicate fluently in English.
Must have finger dexterity, visual acuity, discernment of sounds, color, and texture.
Must be able to use tools, equipment, machinery, etc.
Must be reliable and dependable.
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise environments, chemicals used in the process, and extreme temperatures. The facility is an industrial manufacturing plant.
