General Purpose: Perform AutoCAD drafting tasks, Revit modeling and drafting tasks, and understand/implement AWIP calculation packages. Perform material take-off and produce bill of materials on basic-level and intermediate-level AWIP shop drawing projects. Work closely with Project Manager(s) and supervisor on scheduling.
Essential Functions:
- Effectively use Revit and AutoCAD to produce accurate CAD drawings of IMP structures and buildings according to generally accepted drafting and construction practices.
- Ability to modify and create Revit families and implement them into Revit project template.
- Effectively and accurately complete assigned drafting and BoM tasks with guidance.
- Effectively produce basic/ “box” projects with minimal unusual conditions or unusual product applications (e.g., horizontal, cold storage, etc.) with few errors.
- Read and understand drafting schedule to determine priorities with the aid of Project Manager(s) and/or supervisor.
- Possess basic understanding of construction engineering and use AWIP calculators/spreadsheets effectively and properly.
- Follow AWIP SOP/best practices.
- Gain basic proficiency in construction terminology.
- Complete training by Senior Drafter and/or supervisor.
- Comply with all company and department policies and procedures.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of building codes and standards.
- Importing data into AutoCAD.
- Creating blocks and working with many layers.
- Drawing accurate elevations.
- Formatting layouts in paper space.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of Revit and/or AutoCAD course and 1+ year experience with Revit and AutoCAD, or equivalent proficiency.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills including attention to detail.
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams primarily).
- Intermediate skill level in Box, WhatsApp.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work the core hours of 8am- 5pm Monday through Friday with ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Finger dexterity, visual acuity, color, and texture discernment.
- Ability to regularly work in conditions typical of an office environment, and occasionally work in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment, including noise, extreme temperatures and humidity, odors, dust, etc.
- Ability to wear prescribed personal protective equipment and appropriate clothing.
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate fluently in English.
- Ability to effectively use a telephone, computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and common office equipment and machinery.
- Ability to interact effectively and with clients, contractors, employees, and other individuals.
- Ability to function effectively with moderate to high levels of stress in a demanding and dynamic environment.
- Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time and consistently produce accurate work product organized thoughts and execute sound judgment.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to work remotely as required by management.
Salary: $25-$30 Based on experience and location
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise environments, chemicals used in the process, and extreme temperatures. The facility is an industrial manufacturing plant.
