Mid-Level Database Administrator
Job Description:
The position is for onsite database management support of the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) and Yakima Training Center, Yakima, WA.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Maintain and monitor MS SQL databases and applications.
- User accounts and security rights management.
- Administer system printing capabilities.
- Provide server configuration management.
- Maintain system and user documentation.
- Maintain System Security Plan (SSP).
- Maintain system procedures.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly file backup.
- Maintain and troubleshoot automated data transfers.
- Run on-demand and scheduled periodic user reports.
- Call software/hardware manufacturer hot lines to resolve problems.
- Implement and document all modifications to programs and subroutines.
- Maintain database instances for testing and work with content contributors to deploy changes or modifications.
- Report changes to system status and before restarting or shutting down servers during duty hours.
- Legacy Database Administration.
- Provide support for remote databases in a non-DBA role.
- User training and user assistance.
- Perform queries and reports management for databases.
Qualifications:
- US Citizenship Required
- Active Secret Clearance
- IAT Level II Baseline Certification and Computing Environment required (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent as specified in DoD 8140.03M).
- 5 or more years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server database management including server operations, database user management and reporting services management.
- Proficient in oral and written communications.
