Senior Specific Product Specialist (ESRI GIS)

 

Job Description:

The position is for onsite Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data analysis and Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) support of the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) and Yakima Training Center, Yakima, WA.



Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Spatial data management and data analysis.
  • GIS application customization and automation of multiple consecutive existing application process steps.
  • Map, graphic, and report preparation.
  • Technical application support to PW users of desktop GIS software and data.
  • Web map scripting.
  • Data integration.
  • User request processing
  • GIS data management including GIS management and support services working in a team environment on specific GIS data layers, map products, applications and scripts to address customer needs.
  • CAD services including manage the Engineering Record Drawing Repository (physical and virtual) of floor plans and as-builts, receive and file incoming as-built drawings, update as-built drawings, modify and update floor plans, maintain standard maps, maintain DPW atlases, provide custom map & drawings for special projects, provide informal and formal training for DPW users of AutoDesk software (CAD, Rivet BIM and Civil 3D), manage large format printers and scanners, process drawing requests to be provided physically or virtually. Field work is required to verify accuracy of drawings.
  • CAD data management including manage transfer of data from received models, drawings and other electronic files into CAD and GIS systems, perform CAD application management. All CAD work performed using AutoDesk software.

 

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship Required
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or similar/related field and a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Must have demonstrated experience applicable to the Army environment in complex data editing, data modeling, data analysis, scripting (including web map scripting) and GIS system performance enhancements.
  • 3 or more years’ experience using ArcGIS Pro software for data management, maintenance and analysis.
  • 1 or more years’ experience using ArcMap extensions particularly Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst.
  • 1 or more years’ experience data management using ArcSDE.
  • 1 or more years’ experience using SDSFIE data standards (version 2 or above) for data management.
  • 2 or more years’ experience using scripts and Model Building in ArcMap and/or ArcServer to automate or customize ArcGIS Pro processes.
  • Experience shall include data migration from other geospatial data sources such as AutoCAD, Microstation, LiDAR or other Remote Sensing data work.
  • Experience shall include acquiring and integrating data through the use of Global Positioning Technology (preferably Trimble) or related mobile technologies.
  • Proficient in oral and written communications.
