Computer Based Training Specialist-Instructors

Duties

  • Teach the use of Mission Command and Live, Virtual, Constructive Simulation Systems.
  • Conduct operator training for Force Twenty-One Battle Command Brigade and Below-Blue Force Tracker (FBCB2-BFT) and/or Joint Battle Command – Platform (JBC-P).
  • Conduct training for the Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Operators Course.
  • Revise digital training and exercise support materials for MCoE instruction of assigned Mission Control (MC), C2, and constructive exercise systems. Training support materials include practical exercises, visual aids, and examinations.
  • Develop and maintain a Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), which provides a working reference for both the conduct of daily business and support of digital training, MC constructive exercises, and Live, Virtual, Constructive-Gaming (LVC-G) systems.
  • Perform daily operational checks of classroom computers, Systems, and Networks used in the instruction of MC systems/simulations and audiovisual equipment.
  • Provide LVC-G integration support, analyze student performance during LVC-G training and/or exercises. Provide verbal and written advice, counsel, and assistance to exercise unit operations personnel before, during, and after LVC-G exercises.
  • Set up LVC-G hardware workstations and work areas to support exercises, seminars, or working groups. Ensure necessary supplies, support equipment, training materials, terrain boards, audio/visual equipment, and furniture are in place prior to the exercise.
  • Provide modeling and/or animation support. Apply knowledge of the technological capabilities and limitations associated with modeling and texturing for gaming solutions in support of the proponent school education needs.
  • Construct a formatted DXTRS user playbox, maneuver network, DTED readable format that is compatible with a DIS standards. Build, reformat and manipulate geographic information system (GIS) source data for imagery; build, add or modify imagery features 3d modeling not contained in source data to produce gaming terrain data sets (playbox) to support proponent education requirements.
  • Apply scripting language to augment and enhance behaviors; create simple functions in a client scripting language. Manipulate gaming application software to enhance artificial intelligence (AI) actions through scripting.
  • Assist proponent training developers to build proponent training content, placing objects and entities, defining AI actions through scripting, creating and integrating audio assets, and displaying text and graphics.
  • Provide modification of existing databases and supporting documentation for exercises.
  • Conduct an end-of-course critique technical and AAR after the completion of a training event.

Background Requirements

  • Have working knowledge of integration and/or constructive simulation software such as JCATS, DXTRS, CPCE, JBC-P, VBS3, and/or its replacements is required to support all Mission Command training events.
  • Have a working knowledge of the currently used LVC-G applications.
