Summary: The Aviation Military Analyst supports the Aviation Concepts, Experimentation and Analysis Directorate (CEAD) at Fort Novosel, AL. CEAD develops future aviation concepts and plans and conducts experiments to support the evaluation and refinement of these concepts, develop supporting data and analysis for requirements determination and identify and document capability gaps.
Specific Duties:
- Provide Aviation operations SME support of Aviation concept development and gap analysis.
- Participate in planning, writing, coordination, and staffing of all aspects of Army Aviation supporting concepts to include CONOPS development, required capabilities development, and gap analysis.
- Integrate Army Aviation required capabilities and capability gaps into Joint and Army Concepts, Functional Assessments and Future Capability Workbooks.
- Conduct studies and analysis in order to define materiel and non-materiel requirements for future aviation systems and subsystems.
- Develop and recommend changes to Aviation doctrine, organizations, training and leader development.
- Capture lessons learned from these events to inform Aviation concept development and gap analysis.
- Provide Aviation subject matter expertise and analysis support for analysis of various Aviation formations.
- Participate in local and off-site Army and Joint combat development events.
- Attend, research issues, and provide input for meetings, working groups, integrated concept teams and integrated product teams to provide analysis and recommendations on issues relating to concept development and Army Aviation.
- Develop and maintain of databases and lessons learned in support of experimentation data, CBAs/TBAs and force structure assessments.
- Develop concepts of operations (CONOPS), perform assessment of rotorcraft and fixed wing employment issues and execution of experimentation or study tasks in support of the Army and Joint Programs.
- Provide operational, technical, and programmatic support to conduct joint combined arms Map Exercise (MAPEX), Computer-Assisted Map Exercise (CAMEX), Simulated Experiments (SIMEX), Gaming Experiments (GAMEX), Seminar Wargame (SWG), special studies and other modeling and simulation war fighting exercises both locally and distributed.
Required Qualifications:
- Former Officer, Warrant Officer (WO) or Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) with at least 15 years of Aviation operational experience in Army Corps, Division and/or Combat Aviation Brigades executing and/or planning operational missions both manned and unmanned.
- Experience with MS Access, MySQL, ADAPT and Advanced Tactical Model (ATCOM).
- SECRET clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Graduates of ILE, Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course, Senior NCO Leadership course or higher-level military education.
- Aviation operational experience related to the specific duties listed above.
- Prior experience in developing future concepts, executing the JCIDS process, from conducting a CBA through authoring and staffing of relevant capability documents.
