Job Title: Casualty Assistance Center Branch Chief – Fort Eisenhower
Status: Full Time
Position Summary
The Casualty Assistance Center provides assistances to the grieving families of deceased military personnel, active duty and retired, by providing the final demonstration of our nation’s gratitude to those who faithfully defend our country in peace and war.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Branch Chief is overall responsible for day-to-day Casualty Assistance Center operations and will provide technical guidance and instruction.
- Ensure Casualty Operations and Management Support (CMS) on-call support is provided 7 days a week/ 24 hours a day.
- Oversee Casualty Case Management services for casualty notification and assistance within 49 counties in the state of Georgia.
- Ensure Casualty Assistance Officer training is conducted and certifications are up to date.
- Track Casualty Assistance Report are submitted on time and to standard.
- Provide mentorship and training to casualty notification and assistance personnel.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Will supervise the Casualty Assistance Center Branch
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Ability to handle stressful scenarios related to casualty notification and assistance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must have at least 2 years of related experience in Casualty and Mortuary Affairs with the Department of Defense.
- Must have at least a high school diploma/GED.
- Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Proficient in using MS Windows and MS Office Applications (especially Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Must have at least two years’ grief counseling experience.
- Experience with Defense Casualty Information Processing System.
- The Contractor must provide the Contracting Officer via the COR a copy of all completed and training certifications/certificates within six months of their start date and every three years thereafter.
- Possess a Valid Drivers’ License
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the US Armed Forces.
Security Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must have an active Secret Clearance.
