Job Description:


The Mission Command Digital Master Gunner (MCDMG) Course Instructor performs duties on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Instructs students attending the course on all eight Command and Control Information Systems (CPCE, CPOF, JBC-P, AFATDS, AMDWS, TAIS, DCGS-A, GCCS-A). Instructors supports the day-to-day classroom instruction and administration. Must be able to instruct students on the capabilities, limitations, configuration, and operation of the systems and to provide in context with Army operations. Must be able to instruct students on how to integrate the systems into a common operational picture (COP) within a command post.


Specific Duties:


  • Setup and initialize systems
  • Provide basic troubleshooting of systems
  • Conduct daily checks of all equipment
  • Prepare classrooms for instruction
  • Comply with current approved lesson plans and program of instruction
  • Provide subject matter expertise on employment of systems
  • Provide mentorship to students
  • Participate, monitor, and provide feedback within the Mission Command Community of Practice
  • Help develop and update curriculum
  • Provide instruction aligned to operational environment
  • Teach students using a variety of learning methods
  • Conduct student administration
  • Provide instruction to Active Army, Guard, and Reservist; Joint Services, and DoD Civilians
  • Build overlays for use within classroom
  • Manage classroom resources to facilitate instruction
  • Work scheduling of classes


 Qualifications:


  • Possess a valid, current DoD Secret clearance prior to start of work


  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in presenting training to Army senior leaders, officers, warrant officers, and non-commissioned officers with direct instructor experience supporting the MCDMG Course or similar C2IS course.


  • Have a working knowledge and be proficient in the use of instruction on the capabilities, limitations, configuration, and operation of the Mission Command Workstation (MCWS) with current associated software of Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) and Command Post of the Future (CPOF).


  • Have a working knowledge and be proficient in the application of the capabilities, limitations, setup, initialization, and operation of at least two of the following mission command systems and technologies: Army Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Army Missile Defense Warning System (AMDWS), Tactical Airspace Integration System (TAIS), Joint Battle Command – Platform, (JBC-P), SharePoint 2010, Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A), Global Command and Control System – Army (GCCS-A) and other C2ISs as they emerge as programs of record (PORs).


  • Former Officer, Warrant Officer, or Senior Noncommissioned Officer fully qualified and certified instructor in accordance with TRADOC regulation 350-70 preferred.


  • Former MCDMG preferred.


  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
