Position Summary
The Security Specialist will be responsible for:
- assisting the Joint Requirements Office (JRO) Detachment Sergeant to create and maintain an excellent level of personnel and physical security for the JRO’s assigned Pentagon spaces (including three SCI Facilities [SCIFs], one of which supports TS/SCI and Special Access Program [SAP] Video Teleconferences [VTCs] and all of which support classified telecons at various levels) and staff;
- preparing Joint Staff badge requests for both Government and Contractor staff;
- submitting collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) visit requests to outside organizations for both Government and Contractor staff;
- maintaining the JRO’s Security Access Roster, which is separate from the Joint Staff’s; and
- providing access control to the JRO’s Pentagon spaces.
Minimum Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements
- Must possess a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- At least 10 years’ relevant experience
- Must be experienced in physical, personnel, and information security, have knowledge of the National Industrial Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), and be familiar with Joint Staff and DOD security manuals and policies
- Must have a demonstrated understanding of SCIF operations and security and the demonstrated ability to compliantly oversee operation of a TS/SCI and SAP VTC and Conference Room
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree is required
- A relevant combination of the above education, directly related experience, and training
