Job Summary

Support the Fires Battle Lab (FBL) in performing Army and Joint directed experimentation, demonstrations, analysis and supporting Institutional training.

Background

Support the FBL conducting current and future force concept and live prototype assessments experiments, new technology demonstrations, and Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA) events to gain insights to emerging and evolving concepts, technology and materiel initiatives to provide informed, recommended changes to Doctrine, Organizations, Training, Material, Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities and Policy (DOTMLPF-P). Key to success in this effort is the continued assessment and development of Future Fires capabilities such as directed energy (high energy laser, high power microwaves, etc.), plasma and electrodynamic kinetic energy weapons’ (i.e. railgun, electro-thermal gun, etc.) technologies used to destroy, degrade, deny or disrupt a threat's capability.

 

Requirements

·        Be a US citizen.

·        Possess and maintain and active SECRET clearance.

·        Have consistent access to Fort Sill through a Common Access Card (CAC) or pass.

·        Shall possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, with a minimum of five years' experience as a network engineer.

·        Have extensive knowledge of network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security.

·        Have a thorough understanding of NOSC and WIN-T architecture with an understanding of radios and other transmission devices (tactical & commercial solutions).

·        Have NETOPS experience; Solar Winds tools, SNMPc, Domain Management, AAA management, configuration and change management.

·        Have experience configuring Cisco Router, switches, firewalls, VMware environment and Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM).

·        Have strong troubleshooting skills with a variety of brands (Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, VMware), packet captures, Netflow and Firewall logs.

 

Job Details

·        The Contractor shall be able to attain a military driver’s license.

·        Install, operate, and maintain computer systems and local area networks (LAN).

·        Perform system administration (SA) and maintain computers and servers within the computing environment (CE) and the network environment (NE).

·        Perform NA; install, configure, and maintain network equipment within the LAN.

·        Install, operate, and maintain commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment (i.e. routers, switches, desktop and laptop computers).

·        Provide direct support for Information Dissemination and Content Staging.

·        Assist in the planning, configuration, management, and monitoring of the wide area network (WAN).

·        Develop design, configure, and deploy IP networks from scratch.

·        Observe network activity and make changes to the network to improve / allow different types of traffic to flow.

·        Configure and manage military IP encryption devices.

·        Configure and manage VOIP solutions.

·        Configure and manage Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Networks (DMVPN).

·        Configure and manage virtual server and network environments.

·        Assist in the pickup of commercial rentals and/or military vehicles.

·        Assist in the procurement of radios, COMSEC and SKL equipment.

·        Set up tactical mission command systems including BCCS server stack w/DDS/CPCE servers during experiments.

·        Configure routers and switches throughout eachfied command post during experiments.

·        Set up SATCOM linkages to I-See-O Hall during live experiments.

·        Start network server.

·        Validate all network comms and command systems.

·        Configure network IPs and establish connections for live experiment participants.

·        Provide network troubleshooting during FBL experiments.

·        Conduct Fiber Box cable reconfiguration.

·        Provide spectrum/frequency monitoring w/ EA system jamming the radiant/satcom link.

·        Assist experiment participants system network specialist/engineers in configuration of equipment.

·        Set up/establish video feeds.

·        Set up and establish unclassified networks during experiments.

·        Possess a secret clearance.

Assist in the loading and unloading of network and miscellaneous equipment for FBL experiments.
