Job Summary

Support the Fires Battle Lab (FBL) in performing Army and Joint directed experimentation, demonstrations, analysis and supporting Institutional training.

Background

Support the FBL conducting current and future force concept and live prototype assessments experiments, new technology demonstrations, and Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA) events to gain insights to emerging and evolving concepts, technology and materiel initiatives to provide informed, recommended changes to Doctrine, Organizations, Training, Material, Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities and Policy (DOTMLPF-P). Key to success in this effort is the continued assessment and development of Future Fires capabilities such as directed energy (high energy laser, high power microwaves, etc.), plasma and electrodynamic kinetic energy weapons’ (i.e. railgun, electro-thermal gun, etc.) technologies used to destroy, degrade, deny or disrupt a threat's capability.

 

Requirements

·        Possess a Master’s Degree or higher.

·        Be a US citizen.

·        Possess and maintain and active SECRET clearance.

·        Have consistent access to Fort Sill through a Common Access Card (CAC) or pass.

·        Have brigade staff experience or higher (may be substituted with simulation experience).

·        Gave operational planning experience (equivalent to events that include experimentation, demonstration, or testing).

Job Details

·        Develop training material for players (for human in the loop experiments).

·        Develop force structure and manning requirements for experiments.

·        Design and conduct experiments, to include data collection methodology.

·        Provide oversight on planning, execution, and reporting of experiments.

·        Facilitate the execution of experiments.

·        Attend meetings and in-progress reviews on behalf of the Chief of Experimentation and Wargaming (E&W).

·        Assist in developing a methodology for the collection of data for experiments

·        Fill out Software Changes Requests (SCRs) prior to an experiment and/or (during or after problem Ticket Request (PTR) for experimentation, data output requirements and to correct problems/ trouble associated with simulations once identified.

·        Provide a format and the government shall take said input and prioritize these changes with all other SCRs and PTRs.

·        Write reports and EXSUMS generally free of grammatical errors.

·        Provide EXSUMS for all experiments, planning meetings, IPRs, Rehearsals of Concept (ROC), and working groups and must be able to brief General Officers (GO’s) on experiment outcomes.

·        Provide updates to the CDID Director or higher if required and become knowledgeable on future Field Artillery and Air Defense Artillery capabilities and limitations. This includes, but is not limited to, future weapons, munitions, sensors, and Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS).

·        Develop Learning Demands for experiments.

·        Integrate learning demands from supporting agencies into FBL experiments.

·        Integrate FBL learning demands into experiments across the community of practice (experiments led by other organizations).

·        Assist in the development of an experimentation and analysis plan for each experiment.

·        Assist in the development of a study plan for each experiment

·        Assist in the development of a data collection plan for each experiment.

·        Assist in developing surveys and questionnaires for each experiment.

·        Attend all experiment planning meetings, IPRs and Working Groups.

·        Attend conferences and meetings involving current and future warfighting concepts and weapons systems.

·        Conduct experiment coordination and synchronization across the community of practice.

·        Attend Experimentation Synchronization working groups (ESWG) and Future Study Plan (FSP) meetings with FCC in the absence of the E&W chief.

·        Ensure FBL experiments meet all required gates for approval and funding by FCC.

·        Conduct spectrum management for electronic attack vignettes for AFWE assessments and experiments

·        Perform all duties of a contract site lead and provide oversite for all contractors per the contract.
