Job Description:

The instructor / writer shall instruct and facilitate adult learning through modern training techniques and methodologies and assist in developing Government-owned Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) curriculum. Position shall provide support through certifiedoom instruction, practical exercises, technical lab support, culminating exercises, and curriculum validation. This effort will support the Mission Command Arts and Sciences Program (MCASP) initiative for Mission Command training within Professional Military Education (PME), Initial Military Training (IMT) and Functional Courses for Officers, Warrant Officers, and Noncommissioned Officer Courses within the U.S. Army Signal School.

 

Specific Duties:

·        Work as part of a team which will include Military, Department of the Army Civilians, and other contractor personnel.

·        Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

·        Possess skills/knowledge of performing office automation work that includes word processing, electronic mail, spreadsheets, presentations, and other personal computer applications; typing a variety of materials from rough draft into final form including narrative and tabular material, e.g., correspondence, reports, and forms; maintaining records, historical records, survey results, reference library of training catalogs, regulations and other miscellaneous publications; establishing and maintaining office functional files and reference files; knowledge management applications e.g., SharePoint, Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS), Digital Training Management System (DTMS), Training management Scheduling System (TMSS) and Blackboard.

·        Work with the BCCS v5 server hardware & software application to include integration of the common program of record MCIS platforms; Common Operational Picture (COP), Battle Command Server (BCS), Data Dissemination Service (DDS), VWare Application, Joint Capability Release (JCR), Joint Battle Command Platform (JBC-P), Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T), NETOPS, Upper/Lower Tactical Internet, Tactical Operations Center Network (TOCNET), Intercommunications System, Local/Wide Areas Network, Global Broadcast Service (GBS), Standard Integrated Command Posts (SICPS), Digital Tactical Operations (DTOC), Data Products & Cut-Sheets and handle COMSEC.

·        Have a fundamental working knowledge of the Tactical Server Infrastructure (TSI) hardware/software application to include the Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) software application.

·        Have a fundamental working knowledge and user level experience to operate and program the Division Exercise Training and Review System (DXTRS) simulation.

·        Regularly check with Course Manager(s) and scheduler to de-conflict weekly training schedule foroom/lab utilization.

·        Perform SMEoom instruction and maintain instructor certification IAW the Signal School SOP.

·        Instruct various Mission Command related courses and evaluate student performances using TRADOC-approved Instructional methodology to include 350-2 (Staff and Faculty Development Training), 350-5 (Ft Gordon Academic Practices), 350-22 (Test Control Policies and Procedures).

·        Work closely with Training Development Team IAW courseware development timeline(s); provide subject matter knowledge and expertise in the update or revision of the POI.

·        Actively prepare and participate in TRADOC, CCoE and Signal School Quality Assurance Assessments as applicable.

·        Present Mission Command lesson plans IAW the approved Program of Instruction (POI) for each course listed in paragraph 1.4. Utilize services of existing third-party government or commercial organizations associated within the Signal School to deliver or assist with delivery of training requirements as determined by the COR.

·        Work with other schools, institutions, or agencies – Government, DoD, USA, Industry, Academia, Operational Force or Foreign Government to identify and implement new information applicable to specific courses or lessons, as determined by the COR.

·        Maintain oom equipment and training resources as prescribed in TRADOC Pamphlet 350-70-4, FG policies, and/or local SOP. All equipment issues will be reported to the COR or TPOC as soon as identified.

·        Maintain establishedoom security requirements and procedures as prescribed in TRADOC Pamphlet 350-70-4, FG policies, and/or local SOP. All issues will be reported to the COR or TPOC as soon as identified.

·        Stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time, while delivering and assisting students with training materials.

·        Be able to maneuver in and out of strategic and tactical equipment, and capable of lifting and moving electronic equipment in excess of 40lbs in and out of ooms, labs and alternate training sites.

·        Conduct student evaluations, counseling, administer and enforce test control procedures, enforce discipline, safety, physical security measures; actively participate in student end of course critiques and AAR’s.

·        Maintain student records and statistics as prescribed in TRADOC Pamphlet 350-704, FG policies, and/or local SOP.

·        Evaluate students and report academic concerns to the Course Manager, SGL, ACE and/or Chain of Command as warranted maintaining good order and discipline within the training environment.

·        Audit MCIS courseware for relevancy, accuracy, flow, balance, and clarity of understanding, as determined by the Course Manager and Training Developer; provide timely lesson plan and training material updates from the results of the students’ critiques, review and modify all MCIS lessons, material, labs, and instruction to ensure it imparts the maximum amount of value in the minimum amount of time.

·        Provide technical analysis, develop course material and syllabus; install software package/images, conduct practical exercises,oom/lab observations, instructor evaluations, develop read ahead packages and homework assignments.

·        Revise and update existing courseware and actively participate in NEF/NET; integrate new emerging technology into MCIS curriculum IAW TRADOC Regulation 350-70.

 

Background Requirements:

·        Possess a valid Secret Security Clearance.

·        Graduate of the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFD-IC) within the last five (5) years or must attend and graduate from CFD-IC within 3 months of award of the contract or within 3 months of hire.

·        Have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in the interworking and integration of various devices in the Battle Command Common Services (BCCS).

·        Possess the skill to evaluate and test new software and application for delivery to the oom and labs.

Have PC skills related to installing, configuring, and preforming maintenance.
