Title: Curriculum Developer (two openings)

Location: Defense Forensic Science Center, Gillem Enclave, GA

Job Summary


The Curriculum Developer is responsible for supplementing the training programs of instruction at the Defense Forensic Science Center (DFSC). The objective of this contract is to obtain Curriculum Developers with professional knowledge of education principles, learning theory, and adult learning for standardization and continued development of the technical training programs and implementation of additional learning management platforms. A curriculum development and instructional systems designer staff structure will contribute to consistent training that meets DFSC needs while also providing flexibility to accommodate shifting mission requirements. Education specialists will contribute professional knowledge of education principles, learning theory, and adult learning. 


Education/Degree


Possess a bachelor’s degree in Education that includes an appropriate subject-matter field. 


Experience


At least four (4) years experience developing education curriculum. Possess a strong background related to curriculum writing in Forensic Science. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·        Develop effective instructional design plans for instructional techniques ensuring learning objectives are clearly defined and meet the training demands.

·        Apply comprehensive knowledge of the Adult Learning Models and Instructional System Design to learning objectives and task learning relationships to determine, identify, and effectively incorporate cluster-learning events into instructional courses and curriculum.

·        Efficiently organize course content to ensure adult learning objectives are attainable.

·        Develop text, manuals, and other published doctrine for training.

·        Develop new course materials as needs arise. Redesign, update, or modify the content of assigned courses, including such aspects as training objectives, mock cases, lesson plans, and assessments.

·        Implement changes in training products and advise stakeholders of the adjustments or resources used or needed to resolve the training problem.

·        Develop specific assessment programs for various education/training programs.

·        Evaluate instruction by analyzing student critique data, evaluating test materials, reviewing test results, evaluating instruction materials,com/field observation, and conducting in-depth studies into problems uncovered during the routine evaluation process

·        Provide reports on data from evaluations to training management.

·        Use statistical theory, techniques, and methods to determine what statistical procedure(s) to use when designing statistical assessment of any of the curricula.

·        Analyze lessons to assure relevancy and currency of teaching concepts, references, instructional methods and media, training aids and equipment, and time. estimates/requirements.

·        Serve as a subject matter expert in the assigned field responsible for instructional development, maintenance, and the training program's improvement.

·        Address complicating factors such as changing instructional requirements resulting from internal and external factors; changing goals, objectives, situations, or educational developments in the adult education arena.

·        Adapt/consolidate/interpret guidance to complete instructional courses and curriculum.

·        Stay abreast of developments through reading relevant professional journals and magazines and maintaining an awareness of the nature of articles accepted by such publications.

·        Work closely with other curricula developers, ISDs, and Technical Leaders to develop or revise training materials.

Requirements


·        Able to pass general access requirements for Gillem Enclave, Forest Park, GA.

·        Must have a valid US government issued Secret Clearance, final or interim.

·        Able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Common Access Card.

  •  Provide a DNA sample and information at no cost to the contractor.
  • ·        Travel to attend meetings, conferences, workshops, and to visit other facilities. Anticipate two (2) trips annually.
