Education Service Advisor

Summary:

The Education Service Advisor promotes lifelong learning opportunities through degree programs, testing opportunities, credentialing assistance (CA) and other certification programs available to Department of Defense (DoD) military and family members, and civilian employees. Be professional and knowledgeable of all DoD continuous education services programs. Assist clients in establishing educational goals, develop plans to achieve those goals, and monitor progress. Provide direct assistance to clients requesting Tuition Assistance (TA).

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Advise personnel on educational opportunities that support their professional growth

· Review client’s current education and training records to determine recommended path forward

· Develop Statement of Understanding (SOU) with the client on the education plan and assure it is signed by the approving authority

· Assist client enrolling on DoD education and training portals

· Assist client requesting Tuition Assistance (TA) and assure the TA request meets degree requirements

· Work closely with Unit Administrators, keeping them informed on education changes/updates

· Provide clients leaving the military with all education benefits details

· Process all invoices and payments

· Maintain documentation and assure 100% accuracy

Minimum Job Requirements (education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities):

· Bachelor’s degree in business, management, education, or related discipline and at least 2 years of relevant experience in coaching personnel on what education they need to achieve their goals; or an Associate’s degree in business, management, education, or related discipline with at least 4 years relevant experience in coaching personnel on what education they need to achieve their goals

· Proficient in English both written and verbal

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required

· Ability to pass a favorable background investigation
