This position shall provide subject matter expertise and certified content knowledge and conduct course instruction by applying adult learning principles, theories, and practices, and in some cases use a blended learning approach through textbooks and materials, mission-relevant role-playing techniques and performance-based exercises to reinforce learning objectives, and use of constructive feedback from students and staff that supports improved knowledge and skill acquisitions. 

 

This instructor shall provide and train students in the necessary courses to obtain and maintain professional certifications, providing in-depth instruction in the appropriate levels of credentialing and professional certifications, and by ensuring all students meet the minimum levels required. 

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Have two (2) years teaching IT-related topics within the last four (4) years.
  • Have operational experience in CSWF contained in DoD Directive 8140 and SECNAV M-5239.2
  • Have MCT certification or Certified USN Instructor (NEC-805A)/or other Service equivalent or Navy Master Training Specialist Designation/or other Service equivalent or CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer+
  • Must be Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) in each Microsoft topic/exam for which they instruct.
  • Have at a minimum CSWF foundation security, technical training, and minimum credential applicable to their CSWF position.
  • Shall be a Cisco Certified Academic Instructor
  • Be able to provide oral and/or written reports as required
  • Be able to adapt instructional methods based on analysis of individual student and group needs
  • Be able to use role-playing techniques and performance-based exercises to reinforce learning objectives
  • Desired – Instructor certification or designation such as a teaching certificate, certified professional instructor, master training specialist, or adjunct faculty certification.

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Capability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Possess and maintain all required training and certifications.

Work Environment:

The work will be performed at Naval Air Station Pensacola Corry Station, FL.  Normal business hours are anticipated to be comprised of two eight-hour shifts (dual shifted) that will occur between the hours of 0630 and 0030 daily Monday through Friday with daytime class hours from 0630-1530 and evening class hours from 1530-0030.  Schedule does include recognized Federal Holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings. Overtime will not be authorized. Remote work not available.

Travel:

Travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) to support tasks and requirements may be required.
