Joint Fires Observer Instructor
Location: For Sill, OK
Seeking Joint Fires Observer (JFO) Instructors to support the United States Army Fires Center of Excellence (USAFCoE) at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The Joint Fires Observer Instructor will follow the Government provided Program of Instruction (POI) and prepare to teach to standard the contents of each POI. The instructor will evaluate students on JFO tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) under field, simulated, and classroom conditions. The JFO instructor will administer examinations, evaluate test results, and correlate test results. The instructor will monitor, set-up, tear down, stage for shipment, and operate a Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT) simulator (or future simulator replacement) as part of the POI on JFO procedures. The instructor will also schedule on-post ranges, oversee management and transportation of field logistical support, and manage an observation post for JFO students.
Required:
- US Citizen
- Honorable Discharge
- Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable Fire Support experience and graduate from an accredited JFO course.
- One (1) year experience as Army 13F Fires Support Specialist, 13A (Field Artillery Officer) with Fires Support Experience or Marine MOS 0861 Scout/Observer
- Six (6) months experience operating the Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT) simulator or Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE)
- Possess at least a High School Diploma or GED
- Secret Clearance
Preferred:
- Graduate of the Basic Instructor Seminar or ABIC/CFDP-IC
- Licensed to operate the military vehicles and equipment
- Excellent communication skills; proficient with MS office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
