Job Summary:

Support the instruction and development of Army Cyber School technical and planning courses and support the training requirements of the Cyber School that include fostering self-development, platform instruction, assessing student performance, maintaining training resources, developing training schedules, managing exams, administering exercises, conducting student assessments, and assisting students with developing, preparing, and practicing presentations.

Army Cyber School training includes Career Field 17’s (Cyber Operations) Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC), Captain’s Career Course (CCC), Operations Officer Course (OOC), Advanced Individual Training (AIT), Advanced Leader Course (ALC), Senior Leader Course (SLC), Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC), Warrant Officer Advanced Course (WOAC), and other Cyberspace Operations courses as determined by the Army Cyber Command. Most of these courses consist of technical and planning cyber training validated by USCYBERCOM J7, DoD CIO, and the NSA. Provide instructional support and training development for the Cyber School. Assist and support the CCoE personnel and utilize and develop all training related products IAW all applicable regulations and SOPs (i.e. TRADOC REG 350-70 with appendixes).

Job Duties:

All instructors will work as a team to assist in developing government owned training, provide classroom support, participate in operational tests, training material validation, and provide effective training IAW established programs of instruction (POI), the Master Training Plan (MTP), Army Learning Concept (ALC) 2015, USCYBERCOM J7, National Cryptologic Training System (NSA standards per DoDI 3305.09), and DoD Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (i.e. DoD 8570 or 8140) training standards, and the requirements and deliverables.

Training Support:

  • Coordinate all efforts with the COR.
  • Perform services at Fort Gordon and other locations determined by training requirements and events; and perform training, receive training, attend workshops, present at conferences, or assess training events as needed.
  • Collaborate with current government personnel to establish acceptable training practices and student evaluation criteria.
  • Periodically review classroom training materials such as student handouts, lesson plans, slides, and practical exercises for accuracy and adequacy.
  • Obtain and record information regarding modification requirements gleaned from attendance at local meetings and conferences.

Classroom Instruction:

  • Foster a mentality of aggressive self-development in Cyber School students (e.g. 17 Series MOS),
  • Deliver approved instruction to students for each lesson via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities.
  • Assist training developers, curriculum managers, and mission customers to design and implement a total training package; this includes creating instructional and evaluation content as required.
  • Periodically review, update and analyze training materials and recommend changes.
  • Provide daily attendance reports, and academic reports IAW Cyber School policy.
  • Serve with a combined team of US military, US government civilians, and defense contractors for all Cyber School courses conducted in-residence facilities or at other locations designated by the COR.
  • Assist the Cyber School Training and Education Directorate Team in developing all related training material and training products for Cyber School curriculum.
  • Stand, bend, and stoop for long periods of time while delivering training.
  • Maintain established classroom security requirements and procedures as prescribed in TRADOC Pamphlet 350-70-4, FG policies and CCoE SOPs.
  • Maintain and report student attendance, academic records, and statistics to the COR or Cyber School leadership IAW Fort Gordon Regulation 350-5 and CCoE SOPs.
  • Provide students with evaluation forms; administer and enforce test control standards; conduct assessments and testing in subjects taught; grade exams; evaluate results; record exam results; conduct AARs; and, administer student course critiques.
  • Develop tests associated with the new curriculum that are performance-based and/or criterion-referenced.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit point(s) for a designated Testing facility or location.
  • Stay current with certifications and provide a copy of certifications to the COR.
  • Utilize services of existing third-party government or commercial organizations to develop training, and deliver or assist with delivery of training requirements as determined by the COR, e.g., TDC, ATTRS, Blackboard, etc.
  • Maintain classroom conditions IAW Cyber School SOP.
  • Teach Cyber Protection Team (CPT) Methodologies, CCTC and other cyber related material as it is developed.
  • Develop additional course content for all courses in area of expertise when not actively teaching.
  • Evaluate the Cyberspace Response Assessment.

Education:

  • Graduate of the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course, Support Cadre Training Course (SCTC), the Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC) or the Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course (FIFC) highly desired
  • Graduate of the Common Faculty Development-Developers Course (CFD-DC) highly desired.

Certifications / Skills:

  • Possess a minimum of an IAT Level II certification
  • Possess advanced writing skills (e.g. tailoring content and delivery for different audiences using Bloom's Taxonomy).
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possess skills / knowledge of performing office automation work that includes: Word processing, electronic mail, spreadsheets, presentations, and other personal computer applications; Typing a variety of materials from rough draft into final form including narrative and tabular material, e.g., correspondence, reports, and forms; Maintaining records, historical records, survey results, reference library of training catalogs, regulations and other miscellaneous publications; Establishing and maintaining office functional files and reference files; Knowledge management applications e.g., Training Development Capabilities (TDC) SharePoint and Blackboard.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Experience / Requirements:

·         Possess a Top-Secret Clearance and Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with SCI eligibility at work performance start date and shall maintain the required security clearance throughout the life of the contract.

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in and knowledge of operating system and network security.
  • Must have 5 years’ experience in writing x86 assembly.
  • Must have 5 years’ experience in writing C.
  • Must be familiar with systems exploitation without the assistance of toolkits like Core Impact or MSF.
  • Must understand how to reverse engineer security patches at a level of enough depth to discover the original vulnerabilities.
  • Must have an attributed and published security vulnerability for any publicly available software, such as a Common Vulnerability and Exposure (CVE).
  • Must have a deep level of proficiency with systems exploitation without the assistance of toolkits like Core Impact or MSF
  • Must be willing and able to work shift work if required

Experience / Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Information Security Instructor/ Content Developer at the CCoE desired
