Senior Aviation Military Analyst (Utility Helicopter SME)

About the position:

The purpose of this position is to provide professional support services for Army Capability Managers (ACMs) and the Experimentation and Analysis Directorate (CEAD) located at United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE), Fort Novosel, Alabama.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct an analysis of Aviation organizations in support of formation-based assessments
  • Analyze Aviation organizations in support of simulation activities
  • Analyze Aviation organizations in support of annual capabilities needs assessments.
  • Tailor methodology and conduct analysis to best examine Aviation tasks, conditions, standards, and gaps across select Aviation formations
  • Write/support the revision or re-writing of a substantial number of JCIDS, supporting, and new emerging requirements documents
  • Review manned/unmanned platform programs currently in effect requirements documents
  • Analyze validity of the current capability in respect to Large Scale Combat Operations
  • Analyze the ability of the systems to operate in a Large-Scale Combat operational environment

Qualifications:

  • Rated Army Aviator with at least fifteen (15) years of Aviation flight/combat operations experience is required
  • Must possess the military or civilian equivalent staff courses similar to CGSC/ILE or Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course
  • Senior or Master rated Aviator is required
  • Experience in the current Army tactical utility aircraft fielded to Army aviation units required
  • Experience as a Team Lead conducting Aviation studies and/or operational test events with experience in developing capabilities and evaluating technologies
  • Must process the military or civilian equivalent staff courses similar to CGSC/ILE or Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course
  • Minimum of at least five (5) years’ experience working in combat/capabilities developments is required
  • Secret clearance required
  • Experience as a Standardization Instructor Pilot (SIP) or Instructor Pilot (IP) in Army Aviation utility helicopter formations
  • Prior tactical operational management experience of organization of 400 to 2863 plus personnel is preferred
  • Experience as a Maintenance Test Pilot or Examiner in Army Aviation utility aircraft is desired
  • Experience in planning, executing and facilitating Joint Working Groups is desired. Experience as a Team Lead conducting Aviation studies with experience in developing capabilities and evaluating technologies is desired
  • Direct leadership of a team that authored a Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) approved JCIDS document is desired
  • Utility aviation operational experience in combat operations is desired
  • Must be capable of independent work based on broad senior level guidance to produce completed white papers, concept papers, requirements documents, operational views, and other written products as required
  • DAU or equivalent courses:
    • Introduction to JCIDS CLR 101 (RQM 1010)
    • Requirements Management RQM 110 (RQM 1101)
    • Capabilities Based Assessment CLR 250 (RQM 2500)
    • Developing Key Performance Parameters CLR 252 (RQM 2520)
    • Defense Acquisition University courses - Market Research CON 0040, and Analysis of Alternatives CLR 1510.
