ILLINOIS SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Communications Coordinator
Reports to: Content Manager
Direct Reports: None Indirect Reports: None
Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is a statewide organization that strives to enable Illinois soybean producers to be the most knowledgeable and profitable soybean producers in the world.
The Communications Coordinator will execute a variety of content needs (social, digital, audio/visual, written) across the organization. This position would support the organization in both internal and external communications efforts, developing and deploying communications that include, but not limited to, presentations, social media copy, magazine articles, blogs, videos, web updates and more.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports social media strategy with development of engaging content.
- Supports website development and maintenance, including Illinois Field & Bean Online.
- Support project management aspect of team when needed, including updating the Monday board and keeping Communications Manager on track of status updates and trafficking materials.
- Supports the Communications Department through organization and maintenance of photo/video archives, Box files, Monday.com workspace, and other administrative duties as assigned.
- Supports internal communications projects as assigned per campaign process through copy writing and content development.
- Provides event support as needed.
- Manages internal and external meeting conference room reservations; communicates with all staff
weekly via email to inform them of the following week’s visiting groups.
- Supports media relations efforts by tracking media hits and assisting with interview coordination.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree related in communications, journalism, graphic design, or marketing.
- A diverse communications skillset with an emphasis on social media, project management, photography, and/or copywriting.
- Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills.
Physical Requirements
- Normal office working conditions
- Must be available for occasional evening/weekend travel offsite for meetings/events when necessary.
- Must be available after hours and weekends to trouble shoot problems that may arise.
- Some physical demands – may need to lift between 35-50 lbs.
