The Agronomic Services Coordinator will work on behalf of Illinois soybean farmers to develop and implement agricultural research and outreach programs and coordinate farmer participation and partnership agreements. They will support field efforts, including data collection, organization, and farmer participation, within the scope of the Agronomy Team’s goals, while also implementing mission-driven objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with Soybean Production project management.
  • Assist with Soybean Production Committee reporting.
  • Assist with internal reporting deadlines for contractors.
  • Assist with grant reporting needs and task coordination.
  • Assist in outreach efforts of the team.
  • Assist with in-field agronomics and farm operations data management, collection, and implementation.
  • Assist with coordination of in-field activities with field staff.
  • Assist with coordination and tracking of producer participation.
  • Assist with agronomic events and field days.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree related to agricultural, production agriculture, agronomy, natural resources, environmental science, or ag economics is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills.
  • An appreciation for Illinois agriculture, the Illinois Soybean Association, and the 43,000 soybean farmers ISA represents.
  • Ability to work independently  and as a team member or leader, using sound judgement, a willingness to take and follow directions, the ability to complete tasks, versatility, and the ability to manage multiple projects with both short- and long-term deadlines.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Normal office working conditions.
  • Remote work options will be considered for candidates in Illinois. Must be willing to travel to office and to other sites around the state as needed.
  • Must be available to travel offsite for meetings and events when necessary.
  • Must be available after hours and on weekends to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
  • Some physical demands – may need to lift between 35-50 lbs.
