Responsibilities:
· Shadow ICGA’s lobbying partners in Springfield, IL
· Coordinate ICGA’s July Fly-In to Washington, DC
· Attend the National Corn Growers Association July policy session
· Prepare fact sheets and issue papers on ICGA’s top priorities
· Schedule events for Illinois legislators on Illinois farms
· Write a Political Action Committee August newsletter
· Participate in weekly policy calls hosted by NCGA staff
· Grow the ICGA political engagement platform
· Provide support to ICGA staff or board members as requested
Required Qualifications:
· Team player with a cooperative attitude
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient phone etiquette
· Currently enrolled in a two- or four-year institution
Preferred Qualifications:
· Either living in or attending school in Illinois
· Previous policy or political experience (i.e., working for a campaign, political science college coursework)
· Understanding of agriculture and awareness of priority issues
· Interest in pursuing a future in local, state, or national government or government relations or related field
