Position:

The Director of Sales Training will report directly to the VP, Sales and will be a core member of the US Sales Leadership Team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across a fast-paced, agile, and cross-functional commercial organization. Specifically, s/he will work in close partnership with colleagues from several functions (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Sales Operations, Medical, Legal, Compliance, etc.) to develop and address Dermavant’s sales training needs to ensure that we deliver on our objective of demonstrating value to both customers, patients and shareholders.


Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and lead the onboarding and training of new District Managers and Sales Professionals
  • Develop and lead both HQ and Field Sales Training curriculum
  • Partner with internal functions to prioritize project execution and field training support (i.e. New Hire Class coordination, POA workshop facilitation, launch execution, gap analysis, pull-through)
  • Consistent coordination and communication with Sales VP, Marketing, Operations, Regional Directors, and District Managers regarding training needs and support
  • Ensure sales colleagues maintain thorough clinical and product knowledge across all products and indications in the Dermavant portfolio
  • Lead the training curricula for advanced skills including selling skills, clinical knowledge, competitor, and market landscapes
  • Work with and/or manage external vendors and internal personnel to ensure the successful design and rollout of assigned training programs and projects
  • Assess and analyze the effectiveness of training programs and initiatives
  • Identify and utilize innovative technologies to facilitate adult learning, pull through of training and virtual training capabilities
  • Strategic thinker experienced in working with commercial and financially oriented colleagues
  • Excellent leadership, management, and organizational skills, along with problem solving, conflict resolution and team building
  • An entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries within the industry

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations.
  • Manage and develop key customer relationships, participate in strategic customer engagements and support and attend selected key industry meetings to enhance industry awareness and corporate presence


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university required. MBA preferred
  • 5 years pharmaceutical Sales Representative Experience, 2 years Sales Manager Experience
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams
  • Dermatology experience preferred
  • Experience managing departmental budgets and expenses
  • Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a strong leadership team, as well as with a large number of different outside collaborators
  • Demonstrated track record in the commercial launch of new products
  • Experience in the efficient and effective use of LMS tools
  • Ability to travel
