EV Connect is seeking a hands-on, experienced TechOps Manager who shares our passion for electric vehicles and their ability to positively impact transportation, air quality and energy independence for generations to come.

• Collaborate with smart colleagues who want to make a difference by operating and supporting EV Connect’s cloud SaaS platform, network, mobile/mobile-web applications, portals and integrations
• Manage, coach and mentor a team of CloudOps, StationOps and ITOps support professionals.  Identify deficiencies and grow and/or train staff in applicable skill sets, specializations and certifications
• Monitor, manage and maintain production systems, networks and integrations to ensure high availability, stability and performance service levels.
• Design, implement and maintain network and system topology to scale and support a growing and evolving SaaS platform and related applications and services.
• Champion platform, network, station and data security and integrity.  Ensure security of all assets in the cloud by implementing security best practices. Create and enforce policies and deploy cloud security tools to protect and monitor access.
• Build tools and dashboards and actively monitor, troubleshoot and support a large and growing network of EV Charging Stations across a variety of station brands/models to maximize station uptime and service levels.  Manage and track station certification, configuration, firmware versions and updates.
• Develop and perform regular testing and maintenance for disaster recovery, backups and restoration.
• Manage and support internal networks, applications, security, account management and employee service desk.
• Manage coverage of after-hours on call support for production emergencies, issue escalation and remediation.
• Track, review, evaluate and control infrastructure spend and operational cost within budgetary constraints

YOU SHOULD HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:

• Configuring and administrating AWS services like EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, Cloudfront, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail, Lambda, VPCs, Elastic Load Balancers, Firewalls, Route53
• Container architecture and systems like Docker, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
• Internet networking protocols like HTTP/S and Websockets, TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/SSL, SSH, SFTP
• Operating and supporting event-driven microservices architectures
• Administrating and supporting object/document and relational databases like MongoDB, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, mySQL, PostgreSQL
• Linux-based operating systems
• Obtaining and installing SSL certificates
• Monitoring and supporting RESTful APIs
• Tools like git, Jenkins, Chef, Terraform, ELK
• Leveraging scripting languages for automation and productivity
• Setting up Private Cloud resources subnets, network access control lists, and security groups.
• Monitoring tools such as Graphite, Grafana, Prometheus, DataDog

WE’D LIKE TO TALK TO YOU IF:

• You have 6+ years of experience with large scale production systems and technologies, like load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems, and configuration management
• You have 3+ years of leadership and people management experience in an information technology environment.
• You actively look for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks
• You have participated in or managed SOC 2 Compliance
• You value DevOps practices, versioning infrastructure as code, and automation
• You proactively seek out performance hotspots and degradation in performance
• You believe in transparency, auditing and KPIs to track the overall health of software and infrastructure are key to continuous improvement
• You have experience in working with and managing third party service providers
• You are a hands on leader who can not only provide guidance but enjoys rolling up their sleeves and doing the work when needed
• You have strong troubleshooting/debugging skills and a passion for problem solving and investigation
• You have excellent written and oral communication skills, including technical and process documents
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work history.

WE’D ESPECIALLY LIKE TO TALK TO YOU IF:

• You achieved one or more AWS Certifications
• You have EV industry experience with station integration or open protocols like OCPP, OCPI or OpenADR
• You have experience supporting IoT networked devices in a SaaS environment
