Organizational Overview:

Immunovant is a publicly traded, clinical stage biopharmaceutical company committed to developing innovative therapies for patients living with autoimmune diseases. We are developing IMVT-1401, a novel, fully human anti-FcRn monoclonal antibody, as a subcutaneous injection for the treatment of multiple autoimmune diseases that are mediated by pathogenic IgG antibodies. Phase 2 clinical development is ongoing with Phase 3 preparations underway.

The Role:

The Clinical Innovation team reports into Chief Development and Technology Officer and is dedicated to driving innovation into the clinical operating model to make clinical development faster and better for patients, investigators, Immunovant, and the industry at large. Our approach is to learn through doing: we design and conduct demonstration projects that generate knowledge about novel operational models and methods. These projects identify and test novel approaches, processes, technologies and best practices that have the potential to reduce trial set-up and execution cycle times, and/or reduce cost and generate conclusive results to make the business case for scale-up or adoption of new capabilities or approaches. These projects are executed in close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders and can also be in collaboration with public/private partnerships. The Clinical Innovation Director is accountable for leading and driving initiatives from sourcing and scouting to demonstration and potentially develop the strategy for embedding the innovation into the business if deemed successful and valuable.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Utilize the innovation methodology across the four phases of innovation: ideation, portfolio alignment, demonstration, and implementation to evaluate, source and drive innovation initiatives.
  • Proactively and fluidly matrix manage the team to take advantage of unplanned opportunities and overcome unforeseen obstacles, while achieving project milestones.
  • Collaborate across therapeutic areas and functions to champion innovation, mediate conflict resolution, and encourage an organizational culture, which promotes behaviors that lead to meaningful synergies and superior business performance to create value through innovation where and when it matters most.
  • Understand and apply the appropriate balance between rigor and risk as demonstration plans develop.
  • Create business and implementation plans for projects that have proven successful during the demonstration phase
  • Lead the end to end value proposition of the projects that will be embedded into the business and ensure business accountability.
  • Provide oversight and direction to innovation team members and hold matrix team members accountable for key project deliverables.
  • Facilitate proactive sharing of knowledge and key learnings within the group and across other functions.
  • Ensure the team has the appropriate resources to meet the demand of emerging business needs.

 

Requirements:

 

  • A minimum of a Bachlor’s degree is required, preferably in Business or Life Sciences. Advanced degree (MS/MBA/PhD/PharmD) preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of total business experience is required
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in global clinical research within the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and/or Contract Research Organization (CRO) or other clinical trial sponsor environment is required.
  • Proven experience in people leadership/management is required.
  • Project management experience is required.
  • Experience in a lead role executing/overseeing complex projects or organizational improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Change management experience is required.
  • Knowledge of trial design, regulatory, privacy, and Healthcare Compliance (HCC) regulations required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have strong networking and relationship building skills.
  • Must have strong business acumen and business planning orientation.
  • The ability to effectively summarize abstract concepts into clear, concise and insightful business cases is required.
  • The ability to collaborate with all levels of management and influence decision-making in a global, matrix environment is required.
