COMPENSATION: $30/Hour + Benefits + Generous PTO

WORK SCHEDULE: Full time. Tuesday – Saturday

A Sense of Home strives to prevent homelessness by creating first-ever homes for youth aging out of foster care with donated furniture and home goods. 50% of those struggling with homelessness are former foster youth. POSITION PURPOSE

ASOH is a paradigm where community members share their hearts and resources to change lives whilst also gaining much needed understanding through an immersive educational experience. ASOH is hiring a CC, with the opportunity to grow within the organization. ASOH is in an expansion phase with plans to grow both regionally and nationally to meet the fast-growing need for its services.  

The CC is a motivated self-starting professional who will learn all aspects of the program and be ready to handle any aspect of the model at any given time.  The CC will report directly to the Communications and Development Director to implement all goals and further advance the ASOH mission.

HISTORY AND CONTEXT

ASOH began as a random act of kindness, when the founders saw an injustice and acted upon it. They noticed that young people exiting foster care had overcome the odds against them, achieved securing a roof over their heads, only to be forced to sleep on cold bare floors, and struggle without fridges, stoves, lighting, a table to eat from nor study from. The lack of means to make a space a home, is a significant inequity that has proven to holdback those working and studying hard to overcome the challenges of the world and create a better future for themselves.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Home Creations – The SMM supports the entire team and the HC Lead following all established procedures to complete a Home Creation (https://youtu.be/5b_TVvMvw38) and all the while:

·        Coordinate with the ASOH filmmaker to ensure plan is implemented

·        Print all photos for HC to be installed in the home

·        Take Iphone before/after photos and video of HCs for Reels & Tiktok.

·        Work with the ASOH filmmaker to capture all stills and video on pro camera

·        Post stories.


Social Media/Marketing – We are looking for a storyteller who can capture the many unique ASOH Stories and amplify them across all of these platforms; IG, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, & LinkedIn

Content Creation requires building content from content capturing as well as utilizing assets form the Ad Agency as well as from the ASOH filmmaker and in accordance with the SMM Goals.

  • Creation of Reels, Stories, Tiktok videos, and graphics


Content Management requires uploading completed content to the ASOH platforms, adding music, captions and other App functions, creating approved captions with accompanying hashtags and ensuring all appropriate parties are tagged. Posting is implemented in accordance with the already established:

    • The ASOH Strategic Content Plan
    • The ASOH Strategic Marketing Plan
    • ASOH Content Guidelines
    • ASOH Brand Guidelines
    • ASOH Filmmaker Guidelines


    Amplifying the content requires increasing followers, subscribers and engagement on all platforms.

      • Increase IG from 20k to100k in 2023
      • Increase subscribers on YouTube from 500 to 10k
      • Increase ASOH’s presence on TikTok

      Managing storage includes

      • Swift content and assets storage in the cloud
      • Archiving all posts
      • Labeling and storing deliverables by the ASOH filmmaker and ASOH Ad Agency.


      Managing the ASOH Resource Instagram https://www.instagram.com/asohresources/ (in addition to the main Instagram https://www.instagram.com/asenseofhomeorg/

      • Learning of the best resources to post and creating graphics where necessary

        Engagement in all social media

        • Focus on responding swiftly to comments and inquiries
        • Commenting on ASOH supporter’s posts

          Other tasks, goals and objectives include:

          • Managing assets for marketing and communications
          • Schedule and coordinate filmmakers to capture Home Creations.
          • Capture additional content at Home Creations often alongside of filmmakers.
          • Ensure all necessary story elements are captured on film and in stills and result in yielding as much content as possible from any one event.
          • Review all footage and stills and ensure they are catalogued and labeled.


          Fundraising - The SMM is responsible for elevating the organizations storytelling and marketing to advance the organization’s awareness and fundraising goals. Fundraising goals are accompanied with each marketing campaign and event. The ability to inspire and ensure the story resonates with the target audience is reflected in the amount raised per event and/ or campaign.

          Administrative – The SMM will be responsible for select Chapter administrative duties including:

          • Answering phone calls and channeling messages
          • Promptly handling all social media related emails
          • Responding to inquiries via social media
          • Basic office/warehouse upkeep and housekeeping


          No Task is Beneath Any of Us. We are all work from our beloved warehouse and when we can pitch in to support our team, we do. Donated goods are stored in our warehouse and turned around quickly to be installed in the home of recipients. As such, the SMM will be inclined to provide support as needed in the warehouse which might include, but is not limited to the following tasks:

          • Manage volunteers’ tasks in coordination with CEC. Provide clear instructions and ensure volunteers understand job duties, while creating a stress-free, fun environment in the warehouse and Home Creations for volunteers and staff alike 
            • Lift, move, sort, organize and store donated good, including lifting and moving of heavy furniture and other items such as sofas, armchairs, dressers, etc.
            • Support warehouse upkeep needs, including light housekeeping, organization of supplies, trash removal
            • Document in-kind donations received as instructed
            • Accepting and documenting deliveries
            • Conduct monthly inventory counts
            • Prepare inventory for distribution at Home Creations and warehouse pickups
            • Load trucks with furniture for Home Creations
            • Regularly monitor inventory levels and advise on low quantities
            • Adhere to security procedures and protocols, complying with company policies, properly handling all materials, and advising management on needed actions


          Knowledge of and experience in:

          ·        Social Media, Content Creation, Storytelling, Marketing  and Filmmaking.

          ·        Shared Media and Data Management: Comfort with WeTransfer, Dropbox and Google Drive for data/content management

          ·        Analytical Skills: Ability to process and analyze vague, abstract verbal and written instructions. Ability to visualize and assess abstract ideas and develop structured plans for implementation of marketing plans. Ability to read, analyze complex documents, and communicate analysis in oral and written form.

          ·        Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

          ·        Communications: Requires public speaking, phone conversations, use of email, writing letters and memos, face-to-face discussions and presentations with individuals or teams and contact with others

          ·        English Language - Strong knowledge in reading, writing and speaking of the English language including excellent knowledge of spelling, rules of composition, and grammar. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the Company.

          ·        Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing superior customer and personal services. This includes recipient, donor, corporate partner, and staff needs’ assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of satisfaction.

          ·        Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.

          ·        Mathematical Skills: Ability to create templates and formulas in Excel, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

          ·        Computers and Electronics: Strong working knowledge of Excel, Google Apps, email, social media networks, computers, smartphones, equipment, graphics software and CRM systems.

          ·        Clerical Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.

          ·        Lifting and moving - Requires ability to lift, move, transport, and stage furniture and other home goods sometimes more than 25 pounds.

          WORK SETTING

          ·        Requires working in office space as well as warehouse space in cold or hot conditions as well as outdoors in hot, cold, wet, humid and/or dry conditions. Work is often performed in recipients’ homes. Also, requires ability to climb stairs or hills at times while lifting. Work is often performed in warehouse settings with tight spaces for travel/access. Requires ability to lift, reach, hold and move heavy items, at times onto and from shelving units.
