POSITION: Intake Coordinator

CLASSIFICATION: Full time – 40 hours, non-exempt

REPORTS TO: CEO/COO or Programs Director and/or Executive Director

POSITION START: ASAP

COMPENSATION: $26-29/hour + Benefits + Generous PTO

WORK SCHEDULE: Full time. Tuesday-Saturday. 

 

ORGANIZATIONAL MISSION

A Sense of Home strives to prevent homelessness by creating first-ever homes for youth aging out of foster care with donated furniture and home goods. 30% of those struggling with homelessness are former foster youth. The homeless crisis can only end through prevention.

 

POSITION PURPOSE

The IC is the ASOH caseworker, responsible for recipient onboarding in a seamless and efficient manner to ensure ASOH is creating 3-4 homes per week.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The IC is directly responsible for the following duties:

 

Recipients – The ICis responsible for onboarding recipients, scheduling all Home Creations in accordance with established processes, procedures and protocols; while working with the Community Engagement Coordinator to ensure the sponsors and/ or volunteers of HCs learn about the Recipient in advance of each HC.

 

Working with the CEC, the IC ensures Pay-it-Forward Alumna learn of all HC volunteering opportunities and empower them during the HC.

 

The IC creates a custom Resource Network for each Recipient. Working with the Program Director, the IC ensures that Recipients are connected with all resources that they need at the time of their HC, thereafter providing the PD with any needed insights the PD needs to most effectively provide ongoing wrap around support to Recipients.

 

Partners – The IC keeps abreast of all community partners’ offerings, to in turn offer Recipients additional support throughout their onboarding process.

 

Home Creation Prep & Warehouse Pickups – The IC ensures that the Home Coordinator and Logistics Coordinator have all details they need to prepare for Home Creations per established procedures.

 

Leading Home Creations – The IC may occasionally lead Home Creations, ensuring an upbeat and positive experience for all (per established procedures). 

 

Resource Guide/Referring Agency Partners – The IC is responsible for maintaining relationships with all referring agencies, communicating ASOH’s services to any pertinent new staff they have. The IC  regularly reviews the ASOH website to ensure all referring agencies are adequately listed. The IC is also responsible for remaining well familiarized with the Resource Network, and abreast of updates and new resources provided by the PD; while looking for opportunities to contribute to the growth of Resource Network by actively providing insight to the PD.  

 

Data The IC works the RD and ED to create surveys to gather data to track the efficacy of the program.

 

Community Representation – Speaking at community events, referring agencies’ programs, conferences, etc as directed by PD and/or ED.

 

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, modified or changed at any time at ASOH’s discretion. Changes may be made formally, informally either verbally or in writing.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Relevant case management experience is required. Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and sufficient auto insurance to comply with state laws. Will be expected to drive as a part of the job. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is preferred. MSW is ideal.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENT

Analytical Skills - Ability to process and analyze vague, abstract verbal and written instructions. Ability to visualize and assess abstract ideas and develop structured plans for implementation of marketing plans. Ability to read, analyze complex documents, and communicate analysis in oral and written form.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.

Law and Government - Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances

WORK SETTING - Requires working in office space as well as warehouse space in cold or hot conditions as well as outdoors in hot, cold, wet, humid and/or dry conditions. Work is often performed in recipients’ homes. Also, requires ability to climb stairs or hills at times while lifting. Work is often performed in warehouse settings with tight spaces for travel/access. Requires ability to lift, reach, hold and move heavy items, at times onto and from shelving units.
