About the Role

The Manager, Revenue Accounting will be responsible for leading the revenue accounting process, overseeing the revenue recognition process in alignment with ASC 606, executing financial close activities, enhancing our financial systems and processes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards. This role is responsible for overseeing the order-to-cash (OTC) accounting operations and driving the automation of related processes.

This role requires a deep understanding of revenue recognition principles, balance sheet reconciliation principles, strong systematic and analytical skills, and the ability to manage and optimize OTC accounting processes. The candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, process improvement minded, and capable of leading a global team to achieve high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Ideal candidates will be West coast based. All others should be aware this position will need to work Pacific time. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the OTC accounting function, adhering to ASC 606 and SOX, assuring accurate revenue recognition of our products and services.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including compliance with internal controls and audit deliverables
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes and prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare data and analyses for internal and external auditors during both interim and year-end audits.
  • Update billing and revenue recognition policies and procedures, ensuring they adhere to relevant accounting standards and company practices.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in the improvement or implementation of financial systems relating to revenue accounting, including ERP enhancements.
  • Drive cross-functional projects aimed at optimizing revenue accounting processes and controls.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in revenue accounting, preferably with a SaaS company, prior experience working for a big 4 firm is desired.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with an attention to detail and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to liaison with team members and cross-functional departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with SAP.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in revenue accounting, preferably SaaS company, prior experience working for a big 4 firm is desired

 

Pay Range: $140,000 to $155,000

 

The pay range represents the low and high end of the anticipated pay range for this position based at our Woodinville, WA headquarters. The actual pay offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
