About the Role

The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting an embedded Linux and Android devices for the world market. This is a shift position which provides email / phone support to equipment owners, dealers and commercial facility operators with technical questions and issues related to the operations of Fitness equipment.  An ideal candidate will have software support, networking and media knowledge, along with a strong customer support focus. This candidate must excel at problem solving at all levels. 

 

The Network Engineer works in a high-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. Technical knowledge should include Linux or Android (embedded device experience desired); networking, including but not limited to TCP/IP, NTP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, Cat 5/6, VLAN; and Media/TV tuner and standards (e.g.  MPEG2, H.264, NTSC/ATSC, PAL/DVB, SECAM, RG6, Amplifier, Modulator, UHF/VHF). 

 

Incumbents will be able to triage situations quickly while working equally well with domestic support teams, international support teams, software engineers and external customers to bring about swift problem resolution. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot the bulk of the NetFit support volume (by phone, email or at onsite) 
  • Troubleshoot the Media/TV tuner support volume (by phone, email or at onsite) 
  • Document all troubleshooting in case management system 
  • Write documentation for knowledge articles 
  • Manage que for incoming requests and open tickets

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree of Science  
  • A+, Network+, Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Engineer (RHCE). 
  • 3+ years Customer Care experience in a technical environment. 
  • Software development or testing experience 
  • Media/TV turner and standards familiarity 
  • Electro-mechanical troubleshooting 
  • Networking knowledge  
  • Basic knowledge in Android OS
  • Linux experience 
  • Business level or above in both Japanese and English
