About the Role

The Accounting Specialist is part of the Finance & Accounting Team at Precor. This role will support rebate processing, monthly accruals, commissions reporting support, invoice payment, contract management, recordkeeping and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards. In addition, the Accounting Specialist will be involved in providing support for our SOX compliance program.

 

This position is crucial for maintaining the financial health of the organization and supporting operational and strategic decisions through accurate financial information. It requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software and Excel, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and compliance regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all customer rebates, ensuring timely processing of reports, invoices and payments, maintaining accurate records and resolving discrepancies.
  • Provide backup assistance for commission processing, including running, preparing and maintaining accurate reports.
  • Process invoices in purchasing system and route through approval and payment process.
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and records for easy retrieval and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Support financial analysis and budgeting efforts by providing detailed reports and identifying financial discrepancies that require attention.
  • Support quarterly SOX audit program while ensuring compliance with regulatory rules and deadlines.
  • Work with accounting and sales personnel in Precor’s international offices in Europe and Asia.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an accounting specialist or in a similar role, typically at least 2-3 years.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Pay Range- $65,500-$72,000
