About the Role
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer drives operational excellence in Precor’s Process and Final Assembly areas. This role focuses on identifying and implementing essential components, technology, and methodologies to meet production goals while maintaining precise product specifications. The engineer leads process development, optimization, and refinement, ensuring successful new initiatives and continuous system improvements.
Extensive cross-functional collaboration is required, providing technical support and integration across all Precor departments and facilities. Whether working autonomously or within a multidisciplinary team, the engineer applies sound engineering judgment and aligns decisions with Precor’s strategic objectives.
The required shift for this role is onsite Monday - Thursday, 5:30am - 4:00pm.
Responsibilities
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and value stream mapping to drive operational excellence, embedding these principles across cross-functional teams while mentoring engineers, technicians, and production personnel in best practices.
- Design and implement data-driven manufacturing processes with a focus on repeatability, reliability, and safety, leveraging KPIs to assess effectiveness and identify optimization opportunities
- Provide senior-level technical guidance in diagnosing complex production challenges related to product design, manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain constraints.
- Lead engineering support for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Idea-to-Customer (I2C) initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of new products into scalable, cost-effective manufacturing systems.
- Drive sustainability initiatives across manufacturing operations, with a focus on Zero Waste Manufacturing, energy efficiency, and materials optimization.
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to identify and execute cost-reduction strategies, including packaging redesign, improved manufacturability, supplier quality enhancements, and component standardization.
- Lead design modifications and engineering change management for legacy products, balancing performance improvements with cost containment and customer satisfaction.
- Direct and support tooling development projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-performance tools that enable efficient production processes.
- Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced manufacturing technologies, automation solutions, and digital transformation tools to maintain Precor’s competitive edge in global markets.
- Effectively articulate complex technical concepts, project outcomes, and strategic initiatives to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- 6+ years of relevant Process, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering experience.
- Experience in DFA/DFM required.
- Experience with industry standard CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred) for design and documentation.
- Experience using standard test and measurement equipment to quantify manufacturing margins and problem solving.
- Fundamental understanding and experience with Lean and Six Sigma
- Experience with machine shop process, paint (wet or powder) and welding, steel fabrication and PLC control Systems.
- Experience with project management
- Strong communication skills
Pay Range: $115,000 to $130,000
The pay range represents the low and high end of the anticipated pay range for this position based at our Woodinville, WA headquarters. The actual pay offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
