About the Role
The APAC Supplier Quality Engineer, as part of the Precor Global Quality Team, plays a critical role in enhancing product and process quality across internal operations and supplier partnerships. This position focuses on continuous supplier quality improvements as measured by key performance indicators (KPIs) like out-of-box (OOB) failures, open corrective action requests (CARs), and outgoing quality check (OQC) performance. Collaboration with engineering, cross-functional teams, suppliers, and management at all levels is central to this role. This role demands a data-driven approach, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proactive communication for effective supplier management. It directly supports Precor's mission to deliver high-quality commercial fitness equipment that exceeds customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management:
Collaborate with US-based teams to manage supplier quality performance. Address product defects, provide actionable feedback, and troubleshoot collaboratively to identify and implement solutions. Conduct supplier Audits and evaluations to assess their ability to meet Precor’s standards and specifications. - Continuous Improvement & Quality Metrics:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet or exceed customer expectations and align with company goals. Develop and track KPIs such as out-of-box (OOB) failures, corrective action requests (CARs), and outgoing quality check (OQC) performance to identify trends and drive improvement. - Quality Auditing & Inspection:
Perform audits and inspections of new and existing suppliers to confirm that they are capable of producing commercial fitness equipment with process controls and quality standards that meet or exceed those set by Precor. - Design & Product Development Support:
Own first article inspection (FAI) tracking and approvals for assigned NPI projects and engineering changes. Participate in design reviews and new product development. Provide input on product requirements, ensuring the suppliers can manufacture products that meet tolerances and quality standards. - Root Cause Analysis & Field Complaints:
Investigate and analyze defects in internal and supplier components. Perform root cause analysis and support corrective actions. Conduct field complaint analyses to identify trends and improvement opportunities across product lines. - Work Location & Collaboration:
Based in the Shanghai office, this role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive quality improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proficient in Windows-based applications and general computer literacy.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally, domestically, and internationally.
