About the Role
The Manager, Distribution is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight of Precor's distribution network including all US West Coast receiving, warehousing, shipping and finished goods logistics. This role is focused on driving operational excellence to world class standards leveraging Lean and 5S management principles. This critical role will drive transformational improvements (people, process & technology) with a keen focus on delivering improved warehouse efficiencies, shipment quality, and enhanced customer satisfaction levels.
This important leadership role will be responsible for all daily tactical receiving and shipping activities as well as the development & execution of a long-term strategic plan. People development, personnel coaching and organizational development is a top priority for this position. This role is critical in ensuring seamless product flow, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement across Precor's global distribution network.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations for both parts warehouse and finished goods distribution centers to ensure timely and accurate product flow, and inbound outbound shipping to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ensure 5S standards are implemented and sustained to create a clean, organized, and efficient working environment.
- Lead kaizen events to address process bottlenecks, reduce lead times, and improve distribution efficiency.
- Use 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to optimize workflows and create a safe, visually organized warehouse environment.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, reconciliation, and tracking of inventory discrepancies.
- Lead efforts to improve inventory visibility and control, leveraging ERP and WMS (Warehouse Management System) tools.
- Utilize data-driven insights to identify areas for automation, error reduction, and cost savings.
- Support systems upgrades for warehouse management systems (WMS), driving real-time inventory accuracy and visibility.
- Oversee the implementation of new supply chain processes and technologies, including industry standard tools (bar code scanning) and more advanced hardware and software tools (automated routing guides, 1 touch receiving, WMS software upgrades, and virtual vendor scorecards).
- On-Time Delivery (OTD): Ensure on-time customer shipments and achieve 98%+ delivery accuracy.
- Inventory Accuracy: Maintain 99%+ inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- 8+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, and supply chain management.
- 5+ years of experience in a management role.
- Demonstrated experience leading Lean management and 5S implementation.
- Expertise in managing multi-site distribution centers for parts, finished goods, and bonded warehouses.
- Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to coach and develop teams of 30+ employees.
- Proficiency with ERP, WMS, and reporting tools to monitor operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
- Familiarity with global shipping logistics and import/export compliance.
- Ability to drive change through kaizen events, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in metrics driven logistics environment.
- Development and implementation of 3 year strategic transformation plans.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or similar process improvement training.
- Experience with advanced supply chain technologies, such as automated warehousing conveyance and packaging systems.
Pay Range: $120,000-$140,000
The pay range represents the low and high end of the anticipated pay range for this position based at our Woodinville, WA headquarters. The actual pay offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
