Job Title: Biomedical Technician - Pure Life Renal of Louisville

Pure Life Renal of Louisville, a free-standing outpatient renal dialysis facility, is seeking a skilled and experienced Biomedical Technician to join our team. As a Biomedical Technician at our facility, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing dialysis machines and other medical equipment to ensure safe and effective dialysis treatments for our patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs on dialysis machines, water treatment systems, and other medical equipment according to manufacturer specifications and facility policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of dialysis machines and equipment to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions or equipment failures, and implement appropriate corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including documenting equipment maintenance schedules, work performed, and parts used in electronic or paper-based systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external service providers for equipment repairs and maintenance, and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Assist with the installation and setup of new dialysis machines and equipment as needed.
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols in accordance with facility policies and regulations, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to dialysis staff on proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology, regulations, and best practices in biomedical technology, and participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Biomedical Technician or similar role, preferably in a renal dialysis setting.
  • Strong knowledge of dialysis machines, water treatment systems, and other medical equipment used in renal dialysis.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines related to biomedical technology, such as FDA, CDC, and CMS requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with other healthcare team members and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and prioritize and manage workload effectively.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
