We are looking for a meticulous individual to join our team building custom lighting fixtures. We are a 25 year old New York company specializing in custom and antique lighting fixtures for the architecture and interior design community. We are based in our 25,000' solar powered, LEED Gold factory in Brooklyn.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a range of skills in fabrication, restoration, finishing, and wiring and assembly. It is especially relevant for those interested in antiques, restoration, architecture, interior design, and metalwork.
· Strong mechanical experience, especially with wiring
· A “can-do” attitude and a strong work ethic.
· Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs and ladders.
· Basic experience with finishing (polishing, patinas, painting/lacquering
Some Specific Duties:
· The Assembler is responsible for building up component parts to a specified set of blueprints or schematics. Verify the correct quantities of components and quality checking completed items, manage parts inventory and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products and structures.
· Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
· Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
· Test finished products for defects.
· Maintain the tools used to create products and keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
