This Pharmacist role will be based in Atlantis, FL and is a full time position.

The Role

The Pharmacist compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals. Position tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Maintains strong knowledge of pharmacy policies, government regulations, and good documentation practices
  • Maintains a pharmacy binder which contains dispensing procedures, accountability logs, and any other relevant paperwork as required by sponsors and the site
  • Reviews and abides to clinical trial protocols and investigational drug manuals
  • Liaises with principal investigator and research coordinators to establish pharmacy’s role and communicate any issues with dispending of investigational treatments
  • Consults with physicians and clinical staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints
  • Determines and consults on possible drug interactions
  • Communicates any concerns regarding ethical issues or deviation from established standard operating procedures
  • Maintains responsibility for the management of inventory for investigational drug trials and handles all drug shipments to and from site
  • Assists in the supervision and training of pharmacy technician personnel
  • Oversees temperature measurement device for the site and temperature deviations
  • Assists with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals
  • Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
  • Utilizes knowledge of patient specific data in order to prepare drugs and injectables
  • Orients and mentors new staff members
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required


Required Job Qualifications include:

  • Graduate of a college of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education
  • BS or Pharm.D degree
  • Clinical Research (Hospital pharmacy) Experience Preferred
  • State licensure as a Pharmacist
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
