Our Engine Department is vital to our operations, and we are seeking a motivated and experienced Marine Engine Production and Logistics Associate to join our team. This role involves preparing quotes, scheduling and tracking work orders, managing product shipments, ensuring technical accuracy, and maintaining an organized warehouse. You will oversee engine preparation operations, ensuring production targets are met while upholding quality, safety, and efficiency standards. Strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are essential for driving our continued success and growth.
CAREER DESCRIPTION
Title: Marine Engine Production and Logistics Associate
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Orange County, California (Costa Mesa)
Preferred Experience: 3+ years of experience in a mechanical role
Compensation: Starting at $22 - $26 per hour, commensurate with education and experience
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quoting: Communicate with the sales department to understand their requirements and provide them with technically accurate quotes; Collaborate with the sales department and technical teams to ensure quotes align with production capabilities.
- Work Order Management and Order Accuracy: Plan and organize production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization; Monitor production processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste; Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, service, and technical support, to resolve production-related issues; Review and confirm technical specifications for all customer orders; Ensure that all orders meet quality and compliance standards before processing
- Logistics and Product Tracking: Assist in processing inbound and outbound shipments, including sorting, logging, labeling, delivering, packing, and shipping; audit each shipment prior to packing to ensure that goods match the order; prepare shipping documentation and participate in scheduling daily transportation; inspect all incoming freight for damage; follow up with appropriate staff to resolve issues.
- Warehouse Organization: Assists in maintaining material inventory levels; assists in maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in the shop & warehouse; Maintains accurate files for production records and shipping documentation; maintains an organized and efficient warehouse layout; oversees inventory management, including stock levels, labeling, and storage practices; perform regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy and availability of materials.
- Other: Perform engine preparation alongside technicians as needed; Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Proven experience as a production and logistics associate, or in a similar role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing production challenges.
- Familiarity with production planning and scheduling software (e.g., ERP systems), Microsoft, and Excel.
- Mechanical knowledge a plus
- Commitment to excellence and high standards, including strong attention to detail and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in operating forklifts with a valid forklift license
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have a valid California driver’s license
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds regularly.
