Your role in the mission: 

Type One Energy is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, financial planning and addressing complex accounting issues. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

The ideal candidate will have experience in financial reporting and technical accounting, preferably in a managerial capacity, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting. Other key responsbilities inldude:
 

  • Research complex accounting issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Analyze financial transactions and contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos documenting conclusions reached and supporting rationale.
  • Interpret and apply accounting standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of financial statements and related disclosures and footnotes to ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Manage investor reporting requirements including quarterly and annual financials and various milestones/KPIs
  • Partner with various departments, including Finance, Legal, and Operations, to address accounting-related matters.
  • Advise on the accounting implications of business transactions and initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Proactively assess internal controls and recommend enhancements to mitigate financial risks.

What you’ll need:

  • Masters or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required.
  • Preference for Big Four public accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting and/or financial reporting experience.
  • Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on technical accounting; managerial experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Experience working with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on accounting regulations and industry trends.
