SUMMARY
The Cook will perform specified duties in order to maintain high quality food preparation, production, service and portion control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepare and cook food for patients
Monitor food service for nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards
Frequent use of microwave, stove, oven, can openers, dishwashers, slicers, grease traps, vent hoods, and freezers
Clean and inspect equipment, appliances, and work areas in order to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
Prepare major meals by following recipes, determining food quantities and following meal time schedules
Follow all food safety regulations

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or zero to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Food Handler’s License
Ability to multi-task
Communication Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
