Job Title: Wellness Director
Department: Administrative
Reports To: Executive Director
FLSA Status: Exempt

SUMMARY
The Wellness Director oversees clinical and medical programs for assisted-living residents and
ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  •  Assess resident health and care conditions
  •  Create and ensure maintenance of health plans for all residents
  •  Provide residents with the medication regime as ordered by the resident's physician
  • Ensure that physician orders are carried out as ordered
  • Provide oversight to staff and delegate tasks appropriately
  •  Monitor effective communications regarding resident care
  •  Supervise, retain, evaluate and train Caregivers, Medication Techs and Licensed Nurses
  •  Provide proper documentation of all nursing and healthcare services
  •  Maintain medical records, resident records, medication records
  •  Other duties as assigned


Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures
and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing new vendors and retrieving the
necessary paperwork, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding
and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • RN or LPN certification
  • CPR certification preferred
  • AED certification preferred
  •  Ability to multi-task

Communication Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports,
and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,
regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and
articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present
information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and
geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished
in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite
